UK Donor Needed

We've been TTC for 7 years but due to personal issues and a bout of cancer, we couldn't freeze my eggs. I'm 40 and recently failed IVF due to low AMH and poor egg quality. We didn't get to blast. There's no point in us giving it another try so we decided before going to adoption, we would try for an egg donor. We had another blow as I am CMV negative which is going to make it more difficult to find someone. We thought there would be forums to visit for this kind of thing but our clinic doesn't accept buying frozen eggs in, you have to get a live donor or egg share and to be honest, we can't afford to buy in as we are self funding. I'm advertising on Facebook, local papers, local advertising pages etc but with no luck. Where did you advertise? Are there any forums you can point me to? I'm with Altrui and DCN but I dont really find them useful. Any help is appreciated xx

Hi lovely, I'm TTC myself , but once I've had my first baby I'd be open to donating eggs for you x

Hi there 🥰

I don't know personally where to advertise but I wish you all the best.

I am TTC for my first and like the other lady, I would donate my eggs to you if I was a match.

Xx

Thank you 😊
It's so difficult to advertise in the pandemic. I plan to blanket my local area when the shops open to see if they will put adverts in the windows.

I may as well put them here in case anyone wants them 🤣

I had a call from the Hewitt Centre today to say that someone called and gave in our code. Although you are not ready to donate, I just wanted to say a huge thank you, whomever you are, for even calling. Its given us such hope to keep on trying.

Hi @Looking4MyTurnUK, good luck with your swarch. I am currently TTC but would be happy to donate my eggs once we have had a baby if I was a match for you. What are the implications of CMV negative?

Looking4MyTurnUK · 12/03/2021 16:20

Thank you! CMV, if you have never had it and catch it in pregnancy, it can cause damage to the foetus which can result in long term health needs of the child.

So in essence, you need a donor who is also CMV negative?

Looking4MyTurnUK · 12/03/2021 16:52

That would be the ideal. Apparently you can accept a CMV+ donor but there is a risk.
