Symptoms of hormonal problems?

DH and I have been TTC for three cycles (now heading into cycle 4). I know this isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things, but I am spiralling slightly in worrying about it. I'm 32, less than 6 months away from being 33, and just scared that something could be wrong and it'll take years to resolve. The main reason I'm scared is because of these two issues:

  1. Since having the non-hormonal coil removed a few months ago, my periods only last 36 hours - maybe 48 hours if you count the spotting as it tails off, but definitely the 'flow' is only heavy enough to need sanitary products for 36 hours. Surely this is abnormal and a sign of something ominous?!
  1. I also have recently (thanks to Covid laziness and not seeing anyone except DH) neglected my facial plucking routine, and there are some proper areas of many wiry, dark sprouting hairs! Not enough to look like a beard, but enough to look like an obviously hairy chin.

I would LOVE to go and talk to my GP about this, but the clinic is not responding to any requests for appointments that aren't urgent or Covid related. Not even phone appointments. So I'm just shouting into the void here, wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or helpful information to calm me down. Sad

Can't comment on the contraception side as I'm doing ivf and been ttc so i've not been on it in years.
But for me the signs of my pcos was irregular periods, short and light periods but this can be normal ! And also acne. But everyone is different. I've never been overweight or grew lots of unwanted body hair but my hair is quite fine but I have a lot of it! So pcos can be different in a lot of women

@IAmFourEels I can only help with the chin hairs, I get quite a few dark hairs on my chin that literally just pop out 2 inchs long 😂 I spoke to my GP about those and few other things she said a few hairs on the face is completely normal, she ran some hormonal tests and everything came back fine and I’ve literally just got my BFP.

Just wanted to come back and update this in case anyone in the future is worriedly searching about the same symptoms and finds this thread.

I actually fell pregnant this very cycle (my 4th cycle TTC) and am now 13 weeks pregnant with a healthy (so far!) little bean. So the very short and light periods weren’t a sign of anything worrying (for me, at least) and the chin hairs - whilst deeply irritating - also didn’t mean my hormones levels were totally out of whack.
