Really didn't want to reach this milestone but here I am... Anyone else in the same position?

Hey @acaciabluebell recognise you from another thread. I'm just slightly over the 12 month mark now... it's been 15 cycles for me because my cycles are fairly short. Have you called your GP yet? I'm booked in to start tests this month. Really hoped it wouldn't come to this but what can you do!

acaciabluebell · 04/03/2021 12:51

Hi @2020mission! How are you?
I called my GP a couple of months and we started testing. I've had blood tests, a smear test, swabs and my husband has had a semen analysis. So I'm hoping we can be referred to the fertility clinic soon.
Having had these results, I've found out that there are a few things which may be contributing to our infertility. Namely low AMH, low progesterone/anovulation, potential MFI too. Its all getting a bit scary really.

I actually found out I was pregnant on Monday but then I started bleeding yesterday and now the tests are negative, so it was a chemical pregnancy. Really tough as I thought it was finally our time after 12 months.

Aww no I really feel for you with the chemical, I had one in August. It's so gutting when you've been trying for months and think you've finally done it. I would still think of that as a good sign though as the first parts of conception happened. Hopefully your referral will come soon and they can offer some help🤞 I probably waited a bit long before calling the GP but because of the chemical in the summer I was hoping that it would just happen again but I'm willing to wait around along longer.

@acaciabluebell hey! Just saw this so I thought I’d jump on here too as I sadly too am a part of this club...

Hi @2020mission I think I saw you on a line eyes post I was reading, did you end up with a positive test?

Anyway as you read in the sperm test thread my DH has cancer treatment on his inner thigh a few years back, he good now, all clear but the radiation did impact his swimmers. So basically a year after treatment when he did his first test again at the urologist they basically said we had zero chance of conceiving naturally and recommended ICSI if we wanted a baby, as IVF and ICSI alike are quite a toll on the child bearing partner, I suggested we just see and hope that things get better. So Nov 2019 I took out my Mirena (had the coil for 7yrs) and kind of hoped for the best. In August I fell pregnant the first time, sadly had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks and then fell pregnant again in December but miscarries early right at the 6 week mark. So I’m crossing all my fingers and toes that this month is my month and if it works out (AF due tomorrow) that it’s one sticky sticky baby haha!
What are your stories? How did you get to the 12 month mark?
X

2020mission · 04/03/2021 23:13

@gingerglitter4ever must be a similar username sadly no line eyes hear recently all very much stark whites 😅 sorry to hear about your miscarriages but fingers crossed you'll both have your sticky bean soon!

I've been trying since January 2020 so a bit further on than 12 months. I had chemicals in February and August 2020 both ended just before 5 weeks. It made me hold off with GP tests as I felt it happened twice so should happen again soon but giving up hope now and think it's time for the tests as I'm almost 33 and even if we catch again soon I'll be expecting a chemical again. I spot for 3-5 days before AF which isn't a good sign I don't think.

gingerglitter4ever · 05/03/2021 10:42

@2020mission sorry to hear about your chemicals ☹️ I hope the next one is sticky sticky, third time’s the charm hopefully for both you and me!

acaciabluebell · 08/03/2021 11:35

@gingerglitter4ever Sounds like you have been through a lot! Really sorry to hear about your MCs. I hope you have better luck this month. Any updates?

So my story is: I'm 25 and currently on 13th cycle of TTC. I went 12 cycles without ever seeing a positive pregnancy test until last month where it turned out to be a chemical.

I've had a bunch of GP tests in the past few months. In January my day 21 progesterone was low, indicating that I didn't ovulate that month. I then did a private AMH test and found that my ovarian reserve is low. And DH's sperm test recently has shown low morphology. Everything else was fine with us both.

Only thing that's left is to find out if my tubes are clear. I will need to wait for a HSG but that can only be done at the fertility clinic, which we are hopefully being referred to soon.

Having the CP was obviously sad but I'm also so happy that we actually managed to conceive, so hopefully it means at least one of my tubes is OK and I do ovulate, even if it may be inconsistent. In January (the month where I had the day 21 test) I didn't get any ovulation symptoms, but last month I did, and then we conceived. So that gives me some hope that I am understanding my body correctly and it's able to do what it is supposed to.

So I thought AF arrived on Saturday but now I’m unsure as it stopped yesterday and is only like a sort of a pinkish discharge now.. I’m usually a heavy bleeder and consistent having around 4-5 day periods so this is def out of the ordinary. My stomach has also been all messed up the last week and a half which made me think I might be in with a chance. And yesterday out of nowhere I felt like I got food poisoning, I was feeling sick, achy, feverish, but I had no temp and it eventually settled down. I’ve been reading a few old threads and may take a test in a few days to be sure but if it’s not pregnancy I must have a weird bug?

@acaciabluebell thank you, I hope so too! Like you I’m also just so happy after everything to know it’s possible! Did the docs you see seem positive about your chances despite the news about your reserve and all?

TTC94 · 21/03/2021 07:28

@acaciabluebell I am sorry you find yourself in this position. I will hope and pray that you get some answers soon!

I’m in an almost identical position.
Moving on to my 12th month of TTC #1 now and I had one miscarriage on my 11th month of trying.

I’m 27 and my husband is 29.

It feels like we’ll never get our happiness Sad

I have a booked a telephone appointment with our GP surgery for next Friday for some advice on where we can go from here.

Wishing you all bfps and answers soon xx

acaciabluebell · 21/03/2021 10:51

@TTC94 Hey, I'm sorry you've found yourself in the same situation, it's not a fun one to be in 😔 Your situation does sound incredibly similar to mine, I'm 25 and husband is nearly 29.

I wish you luck for your GP appointment. Its a good idea to go in with a list of questions you want to ask because GPs have a tendency to fob you off especially if you're young. You will need a range of blood tests and a semen analysis for your husband at the very least, and then a referral to the fertility clinic. Make sure your GP explains exactly which dates to do your blood tests for (should be CD3 for one batch, and roughly 7dpo for the other) because that can delay things a lot if they're not done correctly.

Hoping for the best for you xx
