@thislittlebird Same. Think we will collapse from shock when we finally get a BFP!

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 14:06

@Misty84 I kind of don’t expect it slash dread it slash can’t imagine it. It’s a weird feeling, wish I could be more confident it’ll happen.

Misty84 · 06/03/2021 15:11

@thislittlebird I know, I think I’ve become so used to it not happening that it feels like some sort of surreal, impossible dream!

climbershell · 06/03/2021 15:23

@thislittlebird yeah I guess will keep trying for another year naturally anyway. Tho keen for tests and potentially freezing a few eggs depending on findings, to have the backup

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 15:57

Yeah I wondered about egg freezing too @climbershell. Not sure how it all works really but I guess if I go ahead with ivf later this year some will hopefully be frozen in the process.

Same @Misty84, surreal is about right. I was reading Paloma Faith’s twitter (she struggled, I think she had something like 9 rounds of ivf for this second baby) and she was talking openly and honestly about how hard it can be. And it’s just so difficult for me to imagine being in her that position right now.

Kitekat81 · 06/03/2021 17:28

@Misty84 @thislittlebird I feel exactly the same, it feels like some kind of impossible dream now that I might one day see a positive pregnancy test. How do other people make it look so easy?!

@Katiekattty fingers crossed that you won't have as long a wait as some of us on here, but I think you've made the right decision to crack on and not put it off any longer, as you never know how long it will take. I use the Easy@Home OPKs as well, and the Premom app, I've been pretty happy with it so far :)

Misty84 · 06/03/2021 18:05

@Kitekat81 I don’t know, it’s very frustrating and ridiculously unfair ☹️

Hi @Katiekattty👋🏻 Definitely a good idea to crack on as if you wait and then it takes a while you would really regret wasting this time. Post 35 we can’t just assume it’ll happen whenever we want unfort!! 🙃

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 18:36

Yeah agree, good to get started @Katiekattty in case there’s any obstacles.

@Kitekat81 other people really do make it look easy, it’s such a contrast. Is your AF due tomorrow? Mine is possibly Tuesday if my LP remains the same, otherwise later I guess.

DorisX · 06/03/2021 18:48

Hi all,

DH are going to start TTC from the end of April, so I'm just checking in to say hello. I'm 38 and he is 41... would loved to have started a family sooner but for various reasons we just haven't been in a position to do so, but it's coming up to 'now or never!'

To be honest it's quite a terrifying thought! I work in a healthcare-related profession and see what happens when things don't go as they should, and I am just convinced that it will all go wrong for us. I don't know if it's the done thing to say but I have seen all my friends and other family members have these lovely pregnancies and healthy babies and I just think we will be the ones for whom it all goes wrong. Maybe this is normal nerves, I don't know?

We are the last ones in our friends and family groups to TTC and I am sure our parents have given up hope in us .

I had grand ideas of losing a couple of stone before TTCing but of course the pandemic has put paid to that. I looked into Pregnacare capsules but was horrified to see on the box and read the reviews/threads on MN about how they can lengthen or change the menstrual cycle - shocking! So instead I am taking four individual tablets: Folic acid, Vitamin D, Magnesium & Calcium, Vitamin C and Zinc. DH is having a multivitamin. I don't know if there's anything else we should be doing?! Smile

climbershell · 06/03/2021 19:35

One of the most annoying things about not succeeding in a cycle is the week of over a week to the fertile window!!

Planning on day 8,10,11,13-16 unless opk tell me anything different..

Pamparam · 06/03/2021 19:44

Welcome @DorisX! This is a lovely supportive thread - lots of similar and yet different stories! Sounds like you’re taking lots of the right stuff. Other ladies on here would recommend ubiquinol for egg quality. Disclaimer - I don’t take this...yet.

I think it’s normal nerves but also it’s possible/maybe even likely that at least one of your friends or family have had struggles in some way. I thought I was the first one I knew to have a MC but turned out afterwards that one my friends had too. But you do have better odds of not having issues. So keep that positive thought in mind!

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 19:54

Hi @DorisX, welcome! I don't think you're alone in that feeling. I've thought similar things, like I'll get the short childless straw because my sisters have loads, or we'll be the couple with infertility out of our friend group because it's 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 and there's about that many of us. Sometimes I worry about the part where I finally get a bfp, but haven't reached that stage yet. You aren't alone in the thinking the worst, I'm sure.

I think the multivitamins can effect some people yeah, but seven seas have been fine for me so far. Although I've generally upped the additional supplements this month so will see if that messes mine up at all. Your selection sounds like a good start, I guess the only thing I can think off for just starting out would be to avoid regular lubes and get one of the sperm friendly ttc brands.

Yeah it's annoying @climbershell

Who else here started taking B6? I think @selina37 was. I'm really pleased that I've finally got tender boobs again, which I remember @Kitekat81 said was a symptom of progesterone. I haven't had them in months and months and I think it must be the B6.

Katiekattty · 06/03/2021 20:09

Hi @DorisX I had grand plans to lose a couple stones as well and then covid hit. I feel like because it’s not accidentally happened there’s something wrong with me. I was looking at those vitamins too until I read the reviews. I’m the last in my family to have kids as well.

Thank you ladies, it’s reassuring to have other ladies agree with me that it is pointless waiting at this age. I know it’s kooky but I’m seriously considering ordering a bag of fertility crystals. I have nothing to lose haha.

selina37 · 06/03/2021 20:18

Hey @thislittlebird yes I'm on on B6 over here!

Have just started TWW so will see how this one pans out on the B6. I had some spotting today but I generally get that immediately after ovulation. (I think it's something to do with the oestrogen drop.)

sickofthisyear · 06/03/2021 20:35

@thislittlebird I'm on b6. Was getting excited at tender boobs but sounds like it's just the hormones increasing 🤦🏼‍♀️

Kitekat81 · 06/03/2021 20:48

@thislittlebird I'm due on Monday. My temp was still elevated this morning, so I'm clinging on to a tiny sliver of hope, but I'm still expecting it to drop tomorrow in anticipation of AF.

@DorisX welcome to the group! How you are feeling is completely normal, TTC is an emotional rollercoaster and you are going to experience every feeling over the next wee while. Your heart will swell with hope and shatter with disappointment, often within the same day! But the ladies here on this forum will be here to support you all the way :)

Marvellouslymadmum · 06/03/2021 20:54

@DorisX welcome to the group, lovely supportive lot of ladies here. Myself and dp are taking the pregnacare conception tablets and haven't found any issues with them I'm also taking a fair few extras too, let me know if you'd like the list haha

@thislittlebird interesting about the tender boobs being a progesterone thing as I never have sore boobs ever! I've got my bloods on Tuesday woohoo so will find out my levels after that!

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 21:15

Keep us posted on the b6 + symptoms @selina37. Will be interested to hear if you experience similar.

@sickofthisyear well you’re not out until you’re out and all that but yeah, it can do that apparently because it boosts up the progesterone. I’m just excited it might have done even that much since my last test was so pathetic lol

Oh that’s interesting @Marvellouslymadmum, let me know how you get on. I don’t get them often but sometimes I can get quite sore boobs for a few days pre AF, it’s quite rare though, months apart.

@Kitekat81 I hate those stupid few days before AF, can’t help but hope. Fingers crossed that temp stays up.

sickofthisyear · 06/03/2021 21:24

@thislittlebird to be honest I only started Vit b for PMS and my mood already seems so much better (so far...) so it's worth it anyway. Will see what this week brings. 6DPO today...

OP posts:
climbershell · 06/03/2021 21:26

My right boob still has pains, now cycle day 1 (is there an abbreviation for this?

Well to mark me not being pregnant I am living the rock and roll life with my first can of Pepsi Max in over 3 weeks 😅 (not much of a drinker, just the odd cider with a BBQ)

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 21:36

@selina37 my mood is much better than last month this time. I’m almost expecting no period because it’s such a contrast from the week ahead of AF last month. No ridiculous symptoms I’ve never had before, no cravings or excessive hunger, no headaches. I likely will get one by Monday because I do get hormonal migraines but that’s normal for me, all this other stuff wasn’t. I’m 10dpo today.

@climbershell cycle day 1 would be cd1

I had a red wine last night, didn’t bother tonight.

climbershell · 06/03/2021 21:38

Oh I have b6 in my conception vitamins, Tesco's own. They also include Folic Acid, Iron, Magnesium, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zinc, Vitamin K, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12 and a few others

I started with pregnacare, wasn't worried by the reviews saying alter period etc, well I was and then I realised that's silly they're just vitamins makes no sense. Switched to Tesco own as much cheaper and pretty much same vitamins and percentages. Neither affected my cycle

I have omega 3 separately

Just ordered CoQ10 300mg

Marvellouslymadmum · 06/03/2021 21:38

@thislittlebird will do! It'll definitely be interesting to find out, I haven't started taking the b6 yet even though I bought it because I thought I'd wait and see what my progesterone levels were on their own first.

@climbershell cycle day = cd we don't drink much either, rarely drink at home and only the odd pint if we go out which obviously this last year has not happened at all!

thislittlebird · 06/03/2021 21:45

Good plan @Marvellouslymadmum, be able to see the real levels that way.

I think if it’s just a small amount of b6 in yours vits it shouldn’t cause you too much tenderness but maybe they’ve got a fair bit in @climbershell

TTCat39 · 06/03/2021 21:50

May I ask you ladies on vit B if you checked with your GP beforehand? I bought vit B complex and then read the back and it says not to take when trying to conceive without advice of my doctor.
