Pleased to see I’m doing most of what the acupuncturist said @KG1145.

We eat a lot of veg anyway but with my ongoing skin issues I am planning to make some more changes. Been reading a good book on the gut and its impact on so many conditions, fascinating stuff.

If it’s quite painful maybe it is something else then, yeah definitely make sure you go back to them if it’s worse.

Kitekat81 · 05/03/2021 13:10

@KG1145 that's a great list, good to see that I'm doing a lot of that already. @Misty84 I also switched to full fat milk about 6 months ago, as that's what I've seen advised in lots of other places! Not sure what to do about that one as I've kind of got used to it now...

sickofthisyear · 05/03/2021 13:21

@KG1145

Sorry the formatting on my other message about the vitamins isn't great. I can resend if it helps

@thislittlebird it ranges from an ache to a stabbing pain. Sharp pain when I cross my left leg over my right or when I breathe in

I havent taken anything for it but then I don't like as if the pain gets worse i want to know about it so I can go back to the Dr

The only thing I would highlight that it should say Vitamin D3. 1000iu (25mcg). Wouldn't want anyone taking 3000iu daily!
OP posts:
Kitekat81 · 05/03/2021 13:29

@sickofthisyear I take 3000iu vit D... is that bad do you think? I read that you'd have to be taking more than 10,000iu to be getting into the realms of taking too much, but most people are deficient so good to be taking a decent amount? I think it says that in it starts with the egg.

Magnum99 · 05/03/2021 13:30

@sickofthisyear I currently take 2 x 20,000 if of vitamin D3 daily, but this is prescribed by my GP as I'm deficient. Sounds a lot but I can guarantee I'll still be deficient next time I'm tested, my body just doesn't seem to hold on to it.

M4v3r1ck · 05/03/2021 13:31

Happy Friday ladies! 😃 Confirming that I'm in the cougar camp here! DH is 2 years younger than me! 😈

Sorry for the wee wobble yest! I was clearly hormonal, and guess what, AF arrived yesterday, plus my BBT had dropped! It's a proper AF this time, so I'm hoping that's me ready to go again! 😃

@KG1145 wow that list and info was so helpful! Thanks for sharing! Off to Amazon I go again for more supplements! 🤪🤣

@Kitekat81 thank you! 😘 You're absolutely right! How are you feeling, lovely, after your latest results? And how soon can you start the private IVF etc?

@TTCat39 @Misty84 looks like we're cycle buddies! Make sure you give yourselves extra TLC for this AF!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 we get our BFPs soon - hopefully this cycle!

@Geriatric1234 thank you! 😘 Every month I wonder why I have crazy mental days and somehow forget to link them to AF! 🤪🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 How are you getting on with the CB? I'm hoping this cycle will make more sense for me!

@Marvellouslymadmum your body is giving you a time of it too! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Has your BBT calmed down at all?!

@Sparrowfeeder welcome to this lovely group! You're in great company here! 😍😍😍

OMG @Noodella18 you're brave! 🙈 I can't even imagine doing that! I've always had to go to the sexual health clinic to sort mine as I always Hoover up the threads and they need to go rummaging for them! 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈

@thislittlebird @sickofthisyear keeping 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you this cycle! Symptom spotting is the worst! Why are they all the same! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Who else is in the TWW now?

@climbershell great news about your results! That's reassuring and hopefully you'll get a BFP before any new appointments! 🤞🏻

@selina37 @Loladoodle and others - good luck this weekend! 😈 I'm hoping this will be a lucky thread!

Think that's me caught up now! 🤪 Sorry if I missed any important updates!

Do you means weekly??

OP posts:
sickofthisyear · 05/03/2021 14:05

There's various guidelines out there. Drs 'can' prescribe 40,000 daily but I would expect patients to be closely monitored on that dose. 3,000 daily shouldn't cause toxicity but with a balanced diet, 800-1000 should be enough, but it's up to the individual really. Toxicity is caused by increased calcium levels.
After lockdown and no summer holidays we're all in need of Vit d! 😩

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 14:28

@KG1145 interesting list, a few contradictions to what I've read though - always the way, I've been told to drink full fat milk instead of semi skimmed due to male hormones in it, and the vitamin d calculation seems different to what I found in the internet 🤔 as it's 1000ui = 25ug lots of good info though I appear to be doing quite a bit which I'm pleased with!

@thislittlebird that made me lol about the egg and sperm having a conscious uncoupling 😂 and my temps don't make any sense whatsoever they're going up one day and down the next and back up etc 🤪

@M4v3r1ck no my bbt is still up and down so one day it'll be around 36.7 then the next 36.3 then back up again

Magnum99 · 05/03/2021 14:36

@sickofthisyear no I take 2 x daily for 2 weeks and then it goes down to 2 x weekly.

sickofthisyear · 05/03/2021 14:56

That sounds more reasonable!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 05/03/2021 14:57

I also have a 3000 vit d spray I use (and a lower dose one).

thislittlebird · 05/03/2021 15:04

On the dairy front I just haven’t bothered changing anything. I use a mix of nut milks and semi skimmed milk so just continued doing that.

climbershell · 05/03/2021 17:38

Well I've had a teeny amount of spotting today, so I'm not sure if AF is coming or not.

My cheeks are still very flushed, which I read is a symptom, but don't know if that is true. Little bit of boob pain, little coldy still. Feel a little not necessarily crampy, but something in my pelvic region - don't know if it's PMT or not still!!

Still up til 4 days to wait, doh

Noodella18 · 05/03/2021 18:03

@KG1145 in your list the thing about not having full fat milk was in the list for improving sperm, so if @marvellouslymadmum is right and the lower fat dairy is better for male hormones then it makes sense that they advise men to have low fat dairy? And by contrast women should have high fat dairy?

climbershell · 05/03/2021 18:08

I agree that low fat dairy is better for sperm, but it's good to have 1-2 servings of high fat dairy a day (and avoid low fat) for the female

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 18:31

@Noodella18 that would make sense, and would be a plus as I've only changed my milk over to full fat and he's having semi skimmed still! He still eats full fat cheese though so hopefully everything all good @climbershell

climbershell · 05/03/2021 18:41

@Marvellouslymadmum mine still eats full fat cheese

I think it makes some impact but nowhere near as much as having low fat

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 18:51

@climbershell it must be all guidance anyway as so many people manage to get pregnant without monitoring any of this! It's just us unlucky ones that have to think about it all!

Kitekat81 · 05/03/2021 18:53
@sickofthisyear I currently take 2 x 20,000 if of vitamin D3 daily, but this is prescribed by my GP as I'm deficient. Sounds a lot but I can guarantee I'll still be deficient next time I'm tested, my body just doesn't seem to hold on to it.
@Magnum99 that's interesting, did you have any symptoms that made you think you were deficient? Or did it just show up when you had your vit D level tested? I haven't been offered a vit D test as part of the fertility investigations, so not sure if it's something I can/should be requesting.

Kitekat81 · 05/03/2021 18:57

@Noodella18 that does make sense actually now you've said it. Oh dear, my oh has also been having full fat milk since I made the change for me, ndoh! 🤦‍♀️

climbershell · 05/03/2021 18:57

@Marvellouslymadmum yes, so so many (probably most) people don't really give 2 thoughts to TTC, other than folic acid and limiting caffeine!

Marvellouslymadmum · 05/03/2021 19:14

@climbershell it just seems so unfair doesn't it? But then I was like that with my teenagers, myself and my ex decided we wanted to try and it happened pretty much straight away so I didn't give infertility a second thought! It definitely need highlighting more so it's more of a talked about subject and less hush hush I think

thislittlebird · 05/03/2021 21:06

@Marvellouslymadmum the temps just stressed me out so much last month so I’m very relieved to be free of them this cycle. I do think I’m less stressed out in this tww. It’s on my mind a bit but last month was horrendous, watching the stupid temps climb and drop, crazy pms I’d never had before and so on. All quiet on the western front over here so far, nothing occurring whatsoever.

WrongendoftheSTIX · 05/03/2021 21:07
