@merrynelly hello! The nhs advice on the Covid jab changed last week to “pregnant women can make the decision themselves”. They’ve been vaccinating pregnant front line workers since the start because it’s such an inoffensive vaccine. My sister is 6 weeks pg, had the first jab in Feb (she was classed as immunicompromised following chemotherapy last year) and she will be having second jab in April. This far, there have been no documented negative issues with the vaccine and pregnancy. Worth noting though, there’s also no clear, current evidence that Covid increases chances of still birth or MC (obvs depending on how badly you get it). I am planning to have it when offered, for what it’s worth! Xxx

Geriatric1234 · 12/03/2021 07:16

Pffft @mrsmacmc - I’m 42 and my DH is 49. Tell your OH to shhhh about age! 🤣

@KG1145 I totally see it!!!!

Lexber · 12/03/2021 07:23

I had be questioning what to go about the vaccine as I was hopeful that by the time it came around to me (deemed fit and healthy) I'd be pregnant. I received my invited yesterday* and have mine booked for Wednesday so def not as not even started ttc yet due to post coil out bleed.
I have my 2nd booked for early June, which again being optimistic I'm hopeful we may have been lucky by then, and it's left me still unsure what to do as I will be fortunate enough to have had the initial one. Thankfully I have time to wait and see/think/decide.

Side question, when is pest to pee on the ovulation stick? I've seen below some say not first morning pee, May I ask why?

*daughter is autistic, and deemed clinically vulnerable (which as high functioning I didn't expect but it's all under 1 umbrella now) as her carer I've been offered a vaccine which I didn't realise would be the case xx

Geriatric1234 · 12/03/2021 07:27

On the SA chat, I swear to god my DH is broken. His first Q was “are you allowed come in and help me?” When I explained “no dear, this is not a porn fantasy where the nurse and I assist you in milking your magic stick”, his next comment was “well, I can’t wait to get in there and show these young upstarts how fast an old pro can get this done!”

Why - WHY - am I even thinking about breeding with this one....???

I’m kinda in 2ww. Not really sure as working 14 hour days, 6 days a week and teaching on my one day off. But I got the flashing smiley on CB last Friday, then static smiley on Saturday. We only dtd on Sat and Sunday because I’m working in London in the week and he was with his kids from a previous (does week on week off with kids so we have two houses 2 hours apart). I think there’s a chance but I’m so rundown from work I’m not sure my eggs will have the energy to get jiggy with a tadpole! Who knows?! I am now 4/5 dpo (still don’t know when ovulation actually happens vs when cb says peak) and feel nothing at all. NUTHIN! 🤣

Anyway, big love and luck to you all! Xxx

Loladoodle · 12/03/2021 08:21

@KG1145 did you test again?

CloseYourMouthLynn · 12/03/2021 08:49

Wow, this thread moves quickly! Thanks for the warm welcome, it's nice to chat to people going through the same, most of my friends have had their second (and more!) And my husband is sick of hearing about bbt and ovulation tests!

@Lexber, I had the cool removed last year, my cycles have gotten shorter but that could be anything. I do have a 'normal' cycle now so I'm sure you'll be fine.

I'm not sure who mentioned that they are giving pregnant women the choice to have the vaccine, that's interesting, what does everything think about it?

We've delayed trying for no #2, me unwillingly, but I didn't expect a pandemic to throw a spanner in the works!

Twelvestars · 12/03/2021 09:29

@Lexber glad you’re getting your vaccine on Wednesday! Do you know if it’s gonna be Pfizer or AstraZeneca? Or you’ll find out on the day?

I use the pink Clear Blue (the with 2 options: static or smiley). Anyways I sometimes would do the test twice or thrice a day nearing ovulation day in order to catch the LH peak and not miss it. As long as you limit fluid intake and hold your pee for a few hours then it works any time of the day. It’s given a smiley once in the evening!

Marvellouslymadmum · 12/03/2021 09:35

@thislittlebird managed to get my results from the docs

progesterone is 60.5 and should be 13.1-46.3 in the luteal phase,
FSH 4.5 should be 1.7-7.7 in Lp
LH 8.6 should be 1.0-11.4 in Lp
Oestrogen 1127 should be 222-854 in Lp

So from what I can tell I have higher than normal progesterone and oestrogen but no idea what that means and fsh & Lh are normal 🤷🏼‍♀️

KG1145 · 12/03/2021 09:38

Welcome to this lovely group @mrsmacmc @closeyourmouthlynn @lexber @02carol

@noodella18 sorry to hear about your sister. Wishing her a speedy recovery x

@climbershell I was struggling getting anything in the opks I was using before. I switched to CB though which you can use with fmu and found it much easier.

@geriatric1234 'milking your magic stick' cracked me up! 🤣🤣🤣

mrsmacmc · 12/03/2021 09:48

@Geriatric1234 thank you I've been telling him to shush about age 😆 and love the milking your magic stick comment 😂 I agree sometimes I wonder why I'm trying to breed with DH as he can be so lazy and I don't want to be left holding bubs along with everything else!

@KG1145 thank you ❤️

Hope everyone's Friday is short and (decaf) coffee is strong ✨

KG1145 · 12/03/2021 09:51
@KG1145 did you test again?
I did, it's still faint but a bit darker! Grin

I thought I had a CB digital test at home but I haven't. After I had a chemical pregnancy before I was told the non digital ones are better as I can then check to see if the lines are getting darker. Fingers crossed this one sticks!

I contacted the consultant I'd seen privately before about the progesterone and he said that once the pregnacy is confirmed (I don't know how?) to contact him to make an appointment to discuss progesterone. TBH I'm a bit peeved as he has already discussed the benefits of progesterone with me, I don't want to pay for another private consultation to go over it again....

I was due to go for some blood tests next week after I mentioned we'd been TTC for a year to my DR. They are:

 • Full Blood Count
 • U and ES
 • FM Inf (Reg Cycl LFT D1-3)

I assume that I should cancel these tests.... I'm not sure what they're testing for tbh. I don't think any are progesterone... The earliest appointment I've managed to get with my doctor is on the morning of the blood tests so maybe I'll query then and cancel them depending on what he says.

I just want to do everything I can to help it stick but totally clueless really. I wish I'd had my progesterone tested before because the consultant told me the benefits of progesterone in early pregnancy and pointed me towards some studies but never mentioned testing my progesterone.

Geriatric1234 · 12/03/2021 10:12

@KG1145 definitely do NOT cancel anything. Some of those will still be useful and you need to take a breath and let nature do her thing for at least a few days. The reality is there isn’t really anything you can do beyond what you are already doing (with vitamins etc) to make it stick. This is really exciting!! Don’t waste precious energy worrying if there isn’t a problem yet :-) xxxx

02Carol · 12/03/2021 10:37

@Geriatric1234

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Your post cracked me up, I'm so glad I joined this chat.

02Carol · 12/03/2021 10:39

@KG1145

I'm no expert and never been in your position, which btw is super exciting, but I think the ladies are right and somehow wait it out a couple of days and 🤞 darker lines and maybe some symptoms? Really pleased for you.

Geriatric1234 · 12/03/2021 11:10

🤣🤣🤣 @02Carol we gotta laugh through all these shenanigans!! X

selina37 · 12/03/2021 11:38

Oh my @KG1145 sounds exciting! Try not to worry lovely. 🙂

OMG milking the magic stick 🤣🤣 That magic milk is what we need 😂😂

WrongendoftheSTIX · 12/03/2021 12:00

Exciting times @KG1145. I have everything crossed that the line keeps getting darker.

@Geriatric1234 now, that's a positive attitude to having to 'milk the magic stick' into a cup Grin
My DH had to do it at home and get it to the Dr super fast but more relaxing than a 'special room' in the hospital.

Kitekat81 · 12/03/2021 12:14

@Geriatric1234 my oh said that after abstaining for three days in advance he was going to shatter his cup with the strength of his offload 🤣🤣🤣

sickofthisyear · 12/03/2021 12:30

Hi ladies, 12DPO here and pretty sure I'm out this month. I know my cycle and the signs just aren't there. BFN on all tests also. Just using IC now.
Caved and used a FRER a few days ago- see attached for awful evap/indent on it which was there before I opened the holder 😡.
On to next month, but that may be our last try for many reasons.
@KG1145 -very exciting. Stay positive (literally 😂)! 🤞🏻

Has taken me the best part of an hour catching up!!🥵🤪
It’s actually been so nice taking a break from focusing on TTC, but as ovulation approaches obviously it’s all starting up again! 🤦‍♀️

@M4v3r1ck Are we cycle buddies? I’m on CD9.

@Marvellouslymadmum My 2nd jab is also on 22nd May! And I have exactly the same view as you on it.

@KG1145 Congratulations! 🙂

And a big welcome to all the new ladies! Xx

Twelvestars · 12/03/2021 13:03

@Marvellouslymadmum your FSH and LH results are good although you didn’t do the test during CD2-CD5. Even progesterone and estrogen are not too far off I feel. Did they not explain your results, particularly the latter two? And did they not give any particular advice on how to proceed from this point?

KG1145 · 12/03/2021 13:08

This is what I'm worried out, I've heard this about FRER tests - only after I'd bought some though. That line is similar to what I've been getting. Gosh I hope it's not been indent lines!

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you @sickofthisyear

My fried who is now 8 months preganant test the day before her period was due and got a negative. She's had a healthy pregnancy all through. Still hope until AF arrives

KG1145 · 12/03/2021 13:11

Thanks for the words of wisdom ladies... trying to chill out and relax. I think that's the most I can do tbh.

I have a drs appointment Tuesday morning and the blood tests Tuesday afternoon so I'll mention it to the Dr and see what he advises.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

sickofthisyear · 12/03/2021 13:14

@KG1145 sorry, don't want to worry you- if it helps this was 10DPO on my last pregnancy- not that dissimilar!

@KG1145 I would keep your appointment but yes see the gp and see what is recommended. Great it’s a darker line today! 🙏 it continues to get darker each day and confirmed on a digi ASAP! Keep positive ✨

I’m about 6dpo here... nothing to report. Have been super busy lately with plenty of welcome distractions from ttc which is always good for me and stops me obsessing.

We are on cycle 13 now and will be ttc a year next month- can’t believe how quickly it’s gone in. We did say we’d only try for a year but with that approaching imminently I am definitely not ready to stop trying. Our new and final date for stopping is end of this year- hopefully we will have a baby by then! Never mind still ttc!! Has anyone else got an “end date” or will you keep trying?
