Hello,

I am new to this site and this is my first post. I was on the mini pill for about 6 years and stopped just over a month ago now. For the last few weeks I have been using ovulation test strips. This is the first time I have ever used these so not got much experience at all. Would you say that I had a peak at CD 21? I know the test line is not darker than the control line but I can see that it did go up and then dropped back down again after that day so is it possible that I missed the peak on the strips? I tend to test around midday if I can. I'm also expecting my cycle may take some time before it is regular again. I would really appreciate any thoughts on this or sharing if anyone else has experienced coming off the mini pill. Thank you

Hi @Minnie92! I know how stressful tracking the LH can be, I started after my miscarriage in November.
It seems to me, your body trying to ovulate (happened to me twice) but your hormones are not strong enough to trigger it. As you said, your cycle probably will take some time before it is regular again if you only stopped taking the pill after so long.
After my mc, I did not get a positive in November. December I had 3 days of peak! but no ovulation...I felt that my body struggled a lot and my hormones were all over the place. In January, I had a peak only for 6 hours, and again, no actual ovulation. My ovulation is finally back this month.
LH peak on CD 21 is quite late, but of course it can happen if you have long cycles. When my body tried to ovulate, I also got the peak late in my cycle. Normally I have it on CD16 and ovulate on CD17.

I would suggest to test 3 times on the days when your fertile window can be (the app will tell you) until your cycles are regular again. My peak only lasted for 6 hours once, and I would of missed it even if I tested twice.
You will see the changes soon, hopefully next week you will get your peak and ovulation too!

Hi @Tina8800

Thank you for your message this is really helpful. I am sorry to hear this happened to you, fingers crossed for you.
I hadn't realised at first how long it could take to adjust after being on the pill so hopefully it will start to settle again in the next cycle.
