Hey everyone! Thought I would start a March 2021 TTC bus. I'm TTC for first baby, cycle #8, CD12 hopping off from Feb 2021 bus. Wishing lots of baby dust and BFPs to all! Xx

@Figgypullx

Hi ladies,

Hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m TTC baby no #1 and first Month of trying.

This is really new to me and until recently I didn’t realise forums like this existed, the thought of telling anyone (other than my husband!) that I’m trying for a baby just seems like so much pressure so I’m glad I’ve stumbled across this, it’s so wonderful to hear your journeys and read positive stories. Smile

I believe I ovulated on 4/3 so should be DPO 7 CD21.

Im not expecting anything this month as only recently came off the pill so cycles aren’t regular.

Xxx

I’m the same, I’m kinda worried that my age + prolactinoma ( even though it’s treated) + being quite overweight means it’s going to be pretty hard, and I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up.
Steph4190 · 11/03/2021 11:29

@Babyboom93
Hoping it's a good sign! I've been consistently getting a 28 day cycle for ages now and then I'm now cycle day 32 just don't feel like I can be pregnant and not have an obvious positive.

Took us 4 years to fall with first but then had missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. Then fell pregnant again just over a year after with our little boy who is now 4.

Have had all the tests done under the sun with the GP but nothing is showing as being wrong...just a waiting game unfortunately

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 11:50

@Figgypullx

It's very frustrating when people ask you 'when are you having kids then?' - It's a personal choice but unfortunately, people just assume that once you're married, you should be trying! Not everyone wants kids!
I had the opposite - Me and partner have been together 8 years, bought our first house 4 years ago, just sold it and found what we hope is our forever home which will hopefully be happening in the next few months.
We're engaged as of Sept 2019 when our little boy was 5 months old.
When I announced in 2018 that we were having a baby, lots of people asked when we were getting married, why not get married first etc etc.. Marriage is something that we want, but our baby came first and we would like baby number 2 and then get married. It's a little backwards, but that's us! Haha.

I think people just don't appreciate that starting a family is a personal choice and that we all have our own different ways of doing it!

Yes, I've got a couple of the 6 day early tests sitting in my drawer upstairs but not sure when I'll use them... I think I'm going to try and hold out for as long as possible. xx

dunkedbiscuit · 11/03/2021 11:54

Oh guys I think we may have missed our chance this month 😞 I got my peak yesterday but then DH unexpectedly got called in for his COVID jab yesterday afternoon! This is great and a massive relief but he’s been feeling really rough since and I can’t see there being any BD’ing happening, we did manage to DTD twice during flashy Smiley phase so just have to hope that may be enough, I’m not feeling very optimistic though.

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 12:09

@dunkedbiscuit DTD in the days running up to ovulation is great though! Good luck!
Hope your OH feels better soon xx

dunkedbiscuit · 11/03/2021 12:28

@Confused678866 thanks lovely, I hope so. Just have to wait and see now I guess!

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 12:43

@dunkedbiscuit I'm the same this month - got my peak last Friday, DTD on the run up to it and managed to do it again the night of peak day but didn't get around to DTD again afterwards. If I'm out this month, I'll make sure I cover it next month! xx

Maismagic332 · 11/03/2021 13:27

Hi guys:)

I’ve been trying to conceive for a year. On Monday I got my first positive pregnancy test it was very fainter but it has been getting slightly darker over the last few days.

I got a positive pregnancy test this morning but I started bleeding. I am due my period today. Does anyone know if this likely means I’m miscarrying or could my embryo survive my period?

Thank you in advance :)

dunkedbiscuit · 11/03/2021 14:34

@Maismagic332 congratulations! some bleeding is ok and can be quite common in early pregnancy, if you get any pain or if it’s v heavy though then maybe speak with the GP xx

kleelouxo · 11/03/2021 14:40

Congrats 2 all who have had their BFP! :D it's so lovely reading all the stories. AF currently due in 1week and the wait is now agonising lol. I'm sure I'm putting in my head slight symptoms constantly! I had 3 random tarot readings that all asked if I was pregnant and if not it would happen very very soon! This was last month but I was current having my period at the time of readings! I'm so hoping this month is the month. Gets a lil heartbreaking when u see the BFNs every month constantly xx

Figgypullx · 11/03/2021 15:05

@Lalala1985 - I understand that people get excited but it’s just having that pressure, I also like the thought of a surprise element! Although as soon as I say no to a glass of wine people will know! (Only positive in lock down lol).

@Confused678866 absolutely I would never ask anyone such a personal question. I even find work colleagues asking me, way to personal! Yeah I think holding out for a test is better but it’s also nice to know, each to their own. (Knowing me it would be better for me to not know where they are or even buy them as I can imagine it’s so tempting!)

Weirdly enough I believe I have started to come on today. I should be CD21 which means it’s a week early! So no idea what is going on with my body - I’ve read up a little about withdrawal bleeds so unless my first cycle after my pill wasn’t an actual period! Who knows! Either way, I don’t feel to disheartened I knew it was a long shot. I’m happy just to get my body back in check.

Also - if my maths is right I’m guessing most trying in this window may have an December or maybe an Xmas baby! How does everyone feel about that? I can’t say I’ve ever thought about it until now!

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 15:17

@Figgypullx Yeah, I had it work from work colleagues too, I'd never dream of saying it to someone!
My partners sister suffered a miscarriage a few years ago, obviously, she was devastated. (She has two little boys now thankfully). She went into work a few days after the MC and a client said to her 'Come on, when you having babies then? Surely soon?' She was so upset as it was all so raw. I'm a true believer in that you never know what battles people are fighting so just don't say anything!

Ahh right okay. How many DPO do you think you are again, did you say 7? When did you stop your pill? Also, sorry it's such a personal question after saying I don't do things like this but, are you bleeding like a period or something else? Just curious because of implantation bleeding etc. I obviously don't want to put things in your head but it was just a thought.

Haha yes, I had thought about a Christmas baby and having expensive December's but bring it on! Lol xx

SkaterChick · 11/03/2021 15:17

@Figgypullx it hadn't occured to me it would be an Xmas baby until someone else mentioned it!
I'm not expecting it to happen this month but if it did then I guess it was meant to be.

My partner's birthday is Christmas Day...

Figgypullx · 11/03/2021 15:40

@Confused678866 -aww poor her, I had a friend in a similar situation which is maybe why I’m so defensive! haha no it’s fine, I’m here on this forum volunteering information, there is some kind of comfort in confiding in you guys - I guess as it’s completely non judgemental! Stopped pill end of Jan. yeah I read about that as well but I think it’s a bit more than what I would expect an implantation bleed to be. Why are our body’s hard to understand!

@SkaterChick - wow could be a busy month for you then Smile.I agree best not to other think it and if it’s meant to be it will be! It’s a blessing enough to have baby so can’t get caught up in the birthdate!

You may all find this really funny but I genuinely didn’t know actually how much of a challenge getting pregnant could be. At school they teach you unprotected sex = pregnant or STI (or both!)

Xxx

SkaterChick · 11/03/2021 15:46

@Figgypullx I know what you mean...until I had friends trying to get pregnant and then looked into it more myself I had no idea it could take so long.
But sods law dictates if I had risked it when I didn't want to get pregnant then it would only have taken once.

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 16:04

@Figgypullx Maybe just what happens.. I had implantation bleeding with my first baby but I didn’t actually know - I thought it was a ‘light period’ 😂 because of my body readjusting.. it was only 2 weeks later that I didn’t feel right and so I did a test and it was positive. Mentioned the bleed to the midwife and she said it would have more than likely been implantation!
Like you say though, if it is your period, at least you know your body has started to regulate itself now and you can go again! Xx

Lalala1985 · 11/03/2021 16:40

@Figgypullx I actually would really like to conceive during lockdown, I’m emetophobic (fear of being sick) and once upon a time used to be agoraphobic ( fear of leaving house) because of it. At least working at home, the agoraphobia is covered, and I don’t have to explain why I’m not in the office Grin

Cuddles21 · 11/03/2021 19:44

I find you guys mentioning about not telling other people quite relevant to me cos I often wondered if women told their mothers and I was being overly secretive but glad to know most couples keep it between themselves!!

Lollipop25 · 11/03/2021 20:02

@Cuddles21 funnily enough my mother has a bloody radar for pregnancy as much as I try to hide it🤣 usually keep it to myself and DH as I’m always fearful I’ll miscarry (have twice so not a irrational fear). Currently due AF today but miscarried last month so really don’t know what way my cycle is this month🤷🏼‍♀️ Dread using the toilet, just waiting for AF to appear😬

Confused678866 · 11/03/2021 21:04

@Cuddles21 No way to telling my mum! I think my parents are aware we’d like another baby but I’ve never even hinted about when! Partners mum knows we want another but she’d never ask about it!
Too much pressure isn’t it if more people know! X

acaciabluebell · 11/03/2021 21:33

Hey @Maismagic332 spotting or light bleeding is normal. Keep an eye on your pregnancy tests, the lines should get considerably darker every 2 days as your HCG doubles. If you bleed heavy like a period and your tests are getting darker then you will definitely need to speak to a doctor. If the lines get lighter then it could very be a possibly a chemical pregnancy. I had one last cycle - I got a clear BFP then 3 days later (on my AF due date) I started bleeding. On the first day of bleeding the pregnancy test was still positive but by the 3rd day of bleeding the line was gone.

Maismagic332 · 11/03/2021 22:05

Thank you so much for your advice. It has been really reassuring.
I will hold off testing until a week has passed to know for sure. The bleeding has got lighter and is lighter than my usual period I would have. It’s also more brown than it is red and fresh.

Fingers crossed it sticks! Best wishes to everyone here trying to conceive x

TeeBee89 · 11/03/2021 22:28

@Confused678866 it is dreamy! There is so much to do but we are loving being able to finally put our own stamp on a place Smile best of luck with your sale / purchase, hope it goes smoothly for you!

Yeah I'm going to try to hold off as long as I can I think, I only have cheapies in the house at the moment so am going to hold off buying any FRERs until a few days before AF is due. Time is really dragging though so who knows how long I'll actually be able to hold off for 🤔

SkaterChick · 11/03/2021 22:43

I've told a few people that I've had my contraceptive removed and we're letting nature take its course.
Ive only had actual ttc convos with my best friend. She has 2 kids and it's nice to talk to someone other than my partner about it sometimes, plus I can ask her things haha.

AF due tomorrow so we'll see what happens!

Farfaraway1 · 12/03/2021 02:45

Hi ladies, thought I’d jump on this thread too, it’s been about 8 months since I had a D&C so hoping we get a BFP soon! I’m 37 and trying for our third.. I’m waiting for AF to arrive (wish she’d hurry up!) so we can start again. Thought this month I might try testing for ovulation! I haven’t don’t that yet but excited to ‘hopefully’ see a second line at least on one of those tests. 😂 I have spent so much money on pregnancy tests it’s been so hard to see BFN after BFN ☹️ Fingers crossed for lots of March BFP’s! X
