Persistent long bleeding between periods

Hi everyone. My DH and I have been TTC for 2 years. I have had investigations, no specific identified cause for infertility (other than I am 40) and a failed fresh IVF. I bleed every month between periods, usually starting 5 days or so after ovulation. Not heavy as a period and black (sorry for TMI!). In total, I bleed about 18 days out of my 26/27 day cycle. I ovulate every cycle.

What I can't get my head round is that my fertility doctor, and also the gynecologist I saw previously, don't think whatever is causing the bleeding is causing infertility and aren't the least bothered about it, although they do think it is hormonal. My official diagnosis for IVF is low ovarian reserve (AMH is 7) even though I ovulate every month. I struggle to believe that anyone could get pregnant with this amount of bleeding but for my own sanity am desperate to be proved wrong.

Has anyone ever actually conceived naturally with prolonged bleeding like this?

Thanks!

Randomly found this post and thought I'd add my thoughts. Have you had a hysteroscopy? I had something similar and had a polyp. I also have low egg reserve but once the polyp was removed I conceived. I had the bleeding a long time before the polyp was found, even with ultrasounds which picked nothing up, try and have an ultrasound day 3-5 when you have a.thin lining, you can see polyps better! Good luck
