How do I bring Ovulation forward?

Hey everyone, CD1 again of cycle 3. Pretty disappointed but going to try everything this cycle!

The last two months my cycle has been bang on 29 days. I'm not sure what day I ovulated cycle 1 but it was quite late, and this cycle I ovulated day 20. It seems I ovulate late enough and then have a short luteal phase which I know can be difficult for achieving pregnancy.

What natural remedies have people used for bringing O forward and/or lengthening LP?

I already take Vit C, B6, Folate and D3. Would really appreciate any advice

Hi @Fifi1086

I took B6 for a couple of cycles and noticed it was delaying my ovulation to cd17/18 on a 29 day cycle.

I stopped taking it and the following month I ovulated bang on CD14.

I also now only take vitamin C, folic and vitamin d.

Perhaps it’s the B6 that is delaying like it was for me? Maybe try leaving that out for a couple of months to see if it has any effect?

Oh @cat8986 that's interesting!! I'll definitely give that a go! Thank you for that!

Happy to help! @Fifi1086
Fingers crossed it works for you too. I know lots of women have said about the benefits of B6, but I’ve noticed after reading into it that it doesn’t work for all women, so for me, it helped make that decision to stop it. What works for one, doesn’t work for everyone Smile

Hey! I've been trying to lengthen my luteal phase as well, and I've been taking vit D, B6 and "fertility smart conceive for women" and my luteal phase this month was 13 days instead of 11. I've also heard that Angus castus is helpful for supporting progesterone for longer luteal phase.

Short luteal phase can be really frustrating, wishing you lots of luck! I think it's a lot of trial and error to see what works for you xx

Thank you @kittylau44 I'll look into that one!! Really appreciate it!

@cat8986 just wondering what dose you were taking for it to delay ovulation? Ovulation for me is usually around day 17 but this month day 14 (not entirely sure why) and I started taking b6 for the first time after this ovulation because I was worried it might delay my cycle.

@Fifi1086 I’m not sure exactly what did it but I got acupuncture this month and my ovulation moved forward a couple of days to day 14. No idea if it’s related 🤷‍♀️

I’ve been reading a bit about progesterone issues this week because I have them (mine is low). I think vitamin e is another one supposed to help progesterone and extend the luteal phase.

Hi @thislittlebird
I was taking 100mg which I understand is reasonably high. I could have reduced it to 50mg I guess but felt better to stop it altogether.
I started taking it a few months before we started TTC as I read it helps with reducing spotting before periods, which I do. Unfortunately for me it didn’t reduce it so I had no trouble stopping it as had seen no benefit anyway.

@Fifi1086 soy isoflavones for bringing ovulation forward.

I ovulated around cd22. Using soy isoflavones on cd2-6 I brought my ovulation earlier to cd14. Also then got my bfp!

thislittlebird · 25/02/2021 17:57

Thanks @cat8986, useful to know. I started on 50mg per day this week due to low progesterone in my LP but no spotting for me. Hard to know whether to take it all month or just do it post ovulation etc as I did this month. Thanks for the info though, it’s good to hear experiences on these things.

For my first I had acupuncture which helped me. I didn’t even know that was a thing when trying to conceive until I started reading about it 🙊

Fifi1086 · 25/02/2021 20:23

Thanks so much everyone!

I've ordered agnus castus, going to wait until after O to take B6, am going to get soya isoflavones tomorrow and I've booked acupuncture for Saturday!!
