TTC this summer

Hi all,
NC'd as I could potentially be identified from my previous posts!
Is anyone looking to start TTC this summer for the first time? Know it's a bit premature but wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation!
We are getting married in the summer, I'm late 20s, partner is early 30s, neither of us have kids.
Had my coil removed last autumn as it expired, went on the pill as it didn't seem worth getting another coil in for less than a year. Stopped taking my pill a few weeks ago as was constantly bleeding and just relying on barrier contraception for now. I've started taking folic acid and vitamin D just in case that fails!

I'm guessing that lack of response is because it is too early! However, I am also planning for May, June or July! @broodyas

Teacaketotty · 20/02/2021 23:01

I would like to join!

Getting my coil removed on Monday, but we are getting married in April so hoping just to get my cycles sorted before then! DD is 18 months so this will be our second fingers crossed - ideally I’d like to conceive July-August

Hello!
I'm also hoping to conceive this summer!

Chronos321 · 21/02/2021 10:18

Hi,
I am in..
I am also thinking of conceiving this summer, I am not sure whether I should remove my implant now or wait.. I definitely would like for the baby to be born in spring.. So a bit scared of removing it, this has been the main contraception I have known and used for the last twelve years!

Annwen · 21/02/2021 10:23

Stopped pill in December and been using condoms since then, but planning to start TTC May or June. Hopefully this pandemic will have abated by then, for one thing.

broodyas · 21/02/2021 10:30

Hi everyone 😊 👋🏼
Looks like there are quite a few of us already!
I totally get what people mean about coming off contraception you've been on for years.. I'm currently waiting for my first period in 10 years and not sure how I'm going to manage it 😂 But quite interested to see what my cycles will be like. I'm using Clue app to track, is anyone else using anything similar?

I'm in too!
I'm 30 and DH is nearly 29. Together for 11 years and married for 4 this year. Always wanted a family but wanted to be financially secure, so have delayed it until now (was going to start last year but decided to delay again due to the start of Covid)! I am very newly off the pill and would like to hopefully start trying in about May time.

Hi Everyone!

Has anyone had a hormonal coil removed after a year or two? What were your cycles like after?

IamMrsO · 21/02/2021 20:20

Hello!

I’m having my coil removed tomorrow morning, having had one for 8 years. We’re planning on TTC in June but wanted to give myself a few cycles to get back to normal. Not sure how long it will take having been on hormonal contraception for so long.
I’m 32 and my husband is 30, we’ve been together for 10 and a half years, married for two years, this will be our first baby.
Feeling nervous and excited. Have been reading threads on here but to be honest it all feels like a foreign language! X

kittylau44 · 21/02/2021 21:53

Can I join! Other half and I have been together 12 years, I'm 30 and OH is 29. Planning to start TTC for our first in July this year. I'm so excited to start TTC! I'd happily start now but OH wants to wait until summer. I've not been on contraception for years, we've happily relied on the pull out method and it's worked for us (not sure whether I should be worried about that or not :/ ) my cycles are pretty regular but a little on the short side (25 days) so I'm currently working on making them a bit longer 😃

Jackitty · 21/02/2021 22:59

Hello, I'll join!

I'm planning on TTC this summer. DP is incredibly excited, more so than me. I already have a DD, she was unplanned (but very much loved) and the relationship with her dad ended badly.

My relationship now with DP is amazing and I'm afraid of things changing! However I would love DD to have a sibling and do everything the 'right' way this time - planned! I'm so excited about going finally having a proper family. Smile

I came off the mini pill 8 weeks ago. I've had one period since then and I'm using natural cycles to track my ovulation. DP is taking zinc and I'm taking multivitamins just to prepare.

Not sure when the best time to TTC would be. DD is a summer baby and is the youngest in her year.

Jackitty · 21/02/2021 23:01

@kittylau44 don't worry that the pull out method worked so well for you! I used it for 4 years and convinced myself I was infertile as I'd never fallen pregnant. Then ONE time he was drunk and did finish, I became unintentionally pregnant Blush

kittylau44 · 22/02/2021 15:11

Thanks @Jackitty I've seen a few other threads on here where people have said they used it for years with no accidents 😊 hopefully that will be me! 😃

Coil removed this morning! Crazy to think a two minute appointment could change your life.

How did it go for you @IamMrsO?

I’d like to join!

Planning to start trying in June for our first. I’m 33, DH is 35. Been together 13 years.

Came off the pill in September (not because I was super keen but I ran out and just didn’t bother getting a new prescription!) and my cycles are back to being regular now, which is good Smile

Am slightly obsessed and trying to not spend too much time picking out all the future baby purchases I might buy Blush Just feel like it’s been a long time coming!

Currently just focusing on healthy eating as I want to lose over a stone and be in good shape when I start TTC. Also going to start taking vitamins next month.

June 2021 has been set as the start of my TTC journey for over a year now so doesn’t feel like there’s that long to go!

Amber0307 · 22/02/2021 20:41

Not sure if there’s any space for another person to join? ☺️ Looking to start Trying July time. I’m 27 and my partner is 31. I stopped contraception in September but I have pcos. Not sure how far in advance to start taking folic acid

Janxyb · 22/02/2021 20:44

Hello everyone Smile
We are going to start trying from about june or july. We already have a son who is 2.5, had a bit of a traumatic birth and thought for sure I was 1 and done but time is a great healer and I'm really excited to try again. He took almost 2 years to concieve and I turn 35 this year so I'm trying to be realistic about it all.
I would just start now but want to loose a bit more weight first, I had gestational diabetes with my first so just trying to give myself the best chance of avoiding that again aswell Hmm

broodyas · 24/02/2021 18:43

Hi to everyone new 👋🏼
I'm also trying to lose weight, partly for wedding but partly to be as healthy as I can pre-conception. I can just tell I'm going to be one of those people who craves alllll the chocolate during pregnancy though 😂

Chronos321 · 26/02/2021 06:31

Same here, I have to lose around ten kilos.. Not enough time..

MrsRosaline · 04/06/2021 16:49

Hello - is anyone still on this thread? First official cycle this month for me! Did anyone try earlier?

toadstool32 · 04/06/2021 17:31

Hi! First month for me to ttc. I'm cd2 and normally ovulate cd13

broodyas · 14/07/2021 13:02

It's been a while - how is it going everyone?
We stopped using contraception this month and just seeing what happens
Currently CD 22 but I think periods are still irregular since stopping pill in Feb
Holding off the urge to test already! Grin
