Harley Street doctor recommendations

As the title suggests...I'm looking for a Harley Street fertility doctor for advice/treatment on short luteal phase.

Has anyone seen private doctor for that or another issue, besides IVF, and would recommend them?

I haven't been but I've heard some absolutely fantastic things about Evewell. I have a colleague who has gone there for endometriosis specific things and raved about them but I see it being mentioned a lot on MN infertility forum as well.

Hi @kennetrose I had my second appointment with at Fertility Plus on Harley Street today, and got my luteal phase defect confirmed after a scan of my ovaries (follicles were no way near fully developed on cycle day 10 and I only have a 24 day cycle which led to the conclusion that my luteal phase would be short). My suspicious were confirmed that any fertilised egg would have not had time to implant due to the defect which made me very glad I was fortunate enough to be able to seek private treatment. We feel very lucky. I would highly recommend the clinic, and Dr Gudi has been wonderful so far. This month I am trying an ovitrelle injection on Sunday night to stimulate ovulation and then will be taking progesterone suppositories for 14 days. He was very positive as ovaries looked healthy and I had a good egg supply and apparently had two maturing eggs, one in each ovary ( potential twins?😱). Took all the medication home with me today and left feeling so much more positive!
When I booked he had about a two month long waiting list so better to book these things as early as possible.
Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions, I will to answer them.

Thank you @Juno231! I know someone who used them for IVF but wasn’t sure if they looked at ovulation disorders.

And thank you @LondonladyTTC! Really appreciate your replies - we seem so similar so great to hear your experiences. I think I will contact Fertility Plus. Did Dr Gudi mention something called Luteinised Unruptured Follicle Syndrome? From your description it sounds similar. I’ve been reading about that this week and wondered if that’s my issue. If you would be open to it I’d love to keep in touch, maybe over PM, just to share experiences? Fingers crossed you get your BFP this month! Please tell me if you do!

Thanks for the heads up about the waiting list. I received my text today from NHS saying that I’ll hear about my NHS appointment by 4 March but the actual appointment could be months away. Did you pay for your appointment up front? Thinking of provisionally booking one if there is a two month wait then pushing it back if necessary.

No worries at all, this forum is great for learning off each other. He didn't mention that syndrome specifically (just described it as a luteal phase defect) but I will do some reading on it as will be interesting to see if it is! I will definitely keep you updated, and look forward to hearing about your journey too.
I paid a £100 deposit upfront for the initial consultation and then they invoice after every appointment. I am sure there is a cancellation policy where you can cancel 48 hours in advance free of charge (definitely check this first though!) so worth booking due to the wait time and then cancelling if you need to.

Hey,

I saw Dr James Nicopoullos at the Lister Fertility Clinic for this and for severe endometriosis, so helpful and I really like the approach taken. Very happy there but I think there's a bit of a waiting list to see him.

First thing they recommended until we could get in for further tests was to start on startwithovum.com supps.

Good luck with it all x

kennetrose · 19/02/2021 21:17

Thanks @TTC40, what was the treatment plan in the end, particularly for short LP? Just looking at Lister’s website and I like how transparent there are about success rates and prices.

@kennetrose yes of course, I'll post here with the full plan once I've had my next appointment a week tomorrow. Husband and I had to delay going in for our tests as tested positive for covid, otherwise we'd have known by now what the plan was for us going forward.

kennetrose · 02/03/2021 12:55

@TTC40 hope you're recovered from Covid and feeling better! Was it your appointment yesterday? How was it?

Thanks @kennetrose! I’m sorry but I haven’t had the Appt yet, I promise to post here as soon as I have with full info of what was discussed, recommended etc. I understand how useful that info is when you’re going through it too x

Only test I’ve had back so far is from my GP (started the process with them but got fed up and why we decided to go private) and my AMH levels have increased in the last 3-4 months, which is awesome but random!

kennetrose · 03/03/2021 15:47

oh sorry @TTC40 I thought it was Monday 1 March based on your message! Was I a week out? Thank you. Sorry to be so nosey but you're right - it's such useful information to hear about others' experiences when they are dealing with such similar things. I have an appointment at Fertility Plus but I want to keep my options open.
