dodgy amazon frer

hello,

does anyone have any experience with first response brought from amazon?

I keep getting real faint lines on one step tests recently, so ordered first response tests from Amazon. I noticed they already had a very obvious grey looking line before I used it so knew not to mistake this for a faint positive.

do they all have this line, the ones brought from the shop? I'm also confused why the cheap ones are faint positives but on none of the first response from amazon? are they known to be dodgy?

thanks!

If you complain, Amazon will likely arrange a refund. I had some ICs that were showing negative when I actually tried another brand and was positive.

They may have had a high threshold but were meant to be more sensitive than the other brand and clearly weren't.

Amazon arranged the refund.

I believe there have been threads about frer from Amazon and false positives (from memory a while ago) and I've had trouble with frer in general.

it's so weird, you can see a clear grey line on the frer before you use it so I knew it was negative afterwards as it didnt go pink at all but I never noticed this line on shop bought ones before.

either the frer are wrong or the stick ones are. really odd!

I hope you get the result you want! I know people love frer on here but I prefer Tesco's own or clearblue, personally. Not that it stopped me buying frer as well.

The cheap pack in Tesco (£1 for a pack of 2) also very reliable in my opinion.

I could have wrote this my self ! Iv been getting super faint lines on one steps for a couple days. Was going to order some frer from Amazon but the reviews seem abit suspicious

I bought a pack of 2 FRER’s from Boots yesterday. Used the 1st one this morning and exactly as you describe OP. A grey indent line clearly visible when I took it out of the pack. I don’t think it’s just the Amazon ones, think it’s FRER’s in general, which is really bad considering they’re pretty expensive!

it doesnt help that my cycles are a bit longer atm as I'm still breastfeeding so I cant actually pinpoint how many dpo I am to know whether the one step ones are evaps and the frer are correct in which case I'm out this month. only sign I had was ewcm but only saw it one day so who even knows! I guess now I just wait and see if my period turns up. I though ttc with regular cycles was frustrating - this is an entirely different ball game lol!

Good luck!! Keep us updated please as I’m going through the same with these tests at the moment! Starting to think that the one steps are just evaps to be honest!

strawberrypip · 17/02/2021 19:09

I will do. I have to be honest, the negative frers have made me think probably not sadly! but I guess you never know until af arrives! good luck to you too :)
