Doctors that treat luteal phase defect

Our GP finally put our referral to the NHS fertility clinic this morning but said she doesn't know what the wait times are and it could be up to six months. There's also a chance we could also be told to wait until we're at a year or two years trying first (we're in Berkshire if anyone has any experience of fertility services here).

My fiancé and I have agreed we'll seek out a private consultation in the meantime. We're only been trying six months but CD21/7DPO blood tests indicate I'm not ovulating, or not ovulating properly. The reason I spoke to my GP in the first place was because my luteal phase is consistently 8 days.

I know that short LP is a very controversial area and not all doctors believe in it, which is why I'd like to get a consultation with a doctor who is known to have treated short LP. I'm aware of one doctor at Fertility Plus on Harley Street. I know there are people here with the same problem who have been treated by private doctors.

I wondered if anyone had recommendations for other doctors, either in London or the south east/south central, that had treated them for this or a similar issue.

Thank you!

Hi, I know it’s been a while but did you have any luck finding a doctor? Hope your journey has been successful xx

I had acupuncture which extended my cycle from 21d to 28. Good luck

Yes I went to Dr Gudi at Fertility Plus. Did six medicated cycles treating my LP defect. Sadly no success with that (my opinion now is LP defect was a red herring and our infertility was caused by something else) but we moved onto IVF with Dr Gudi after that and I’m now 37 weeks 😁
