Hi ladies! I'm hoping for some positive stories from other ladies that took a while to conceive. I have been trying to conceive now for 10 months with no luck. I am 33, I have pcos but have managed to regulate my cycles through weight loss. I have lost 4 and a half stone and dropped from a size 22 to a 14-16 and still slowly and safely losing weight. I dont drink. I dont smoke. I dont eat sugar. Eat my 5 a day if not more. I take all the advised supplements including q10 for egg quality. Basically there isn't much more I can do!! I am in a same sex relationship so we are using donor sperm and I know the donor has good sperm count etc. I am booked in to see a specialist for some tests next month and I praying for good news that all is ok!! Basically... ladies, please tell me your stories. How long did it take you to conceive??

14 months + 2 early losses for my first. The losses actually happened the first 2 months in a row and then I didn’t get pregnant again for a year! Honestly felt like it would NEVER happen and then one month...it just did! Had some initial tests after the 1 year mark and was told everything was normal. Fell pregnant that month anyway. It just took ages!

Hang in there you’re doing great...TTC isn’t all it’s cracked up to be xxx

Thanks so much for your reply!!

@mamaatthegym sounds like you had a really rough time of it ttc as well. But you got there in the end :)

I guess it'll happen when the time is right.

I know its so common for it to take a while to conceive but when you want something so bad you get a little desperste. I have had one chemical and that's it. I am having tests done in a couple of weeks so will find out if theres any issues. The good news is my cycles are now regular so I know I atleast ovulate. There's a family history of blocked tubes so I'm panicking that could be an issue but will cross that bridge when we come to it. I do have to admit I find the 2ww exciting but am devastated each month when I get af :( but atleast it's only another 2 weeks until I can try again.

It's hard to be patient when you really want it. First time I got pregnant I was on the pill and it was unplanned (ended in a late loss at 20 weeks) second time was third cycle of trying and was a healthy pregnancy, both with my exH.

Now trying to conceive with my DP and am on cycle 5. It's exhausting, even though we are in no rush and logically I know it could easily take a year or two, I can't help but find my period bloody disheartening every month.
