Has anyone ever felt extremely sick after/during ovulation?

I mc last cycle, so this is our first cycle ttc after that.

cd16 today and I got my peak opk this morning. From past experience I know this means I'm ovulating today (not in 12-24h as most positive opk results suggest) Also got a significant temp rise and pain on my left side, ewcm - the whole ovulation gang is present.

For the first time ever though, I feel extremely sick. It like a very strong nausea with stomach pains. I've also felt wiped out so have been in bed all morning.

Never had this before. Anyone else?

Ever since I had my DC by C-sec in 2019 I have had ovulation pain. My scar didn't heal properly and the scar tissue hurts on the day. Usually it's pretty mild.

However, I had a miscarriage in January and while we thought we would TTC immediately, this time the ovulation pain was so much that I couldn't even bear to DTD on the day. I am hoping that we covered our bases by DTD in the run up to ovulation, but don't know yet.

I am also hoping that this severe cramping is like the severe cramping that people mention in their first period after a miscarriage. I am really not keen on all this extra pain every month!

Yes , it even wakes me up in the night..it only started the past year or so and I'm peri menopausal now

I have heard of this being a thing amongst a lot of women unfortunately. Hope it subsides for you soon! Also good luck with your TTC this month

Thanks everyone.

Did wonder if it was something to do with extra hormones. My temps never came down as low as normal so perhaps that signifies more progesterone.

@Pimmsandprimroses I get quite bad ovulation pain some months, ever since I had my son 3years ago - never had it before then! I had a traumatic birth with forceps delivery so wonder if it's related. Good luck for this cycle! Last cycle when I conceived I had bad pain and then cramping on off all the way to my bfp.

@Janey3090 oh strange! Anything different this month for you? I feel so sick and weak and tired - feels a bit like mild food poisoning if I'm honest but I definitely haven't eaten anything questionable.

Hello, yes I have definitely felt sick when ovulating, especially if I ovulate later than normal. One month I was convinced I was pregnant because I felt so sick and had a bad stomach ache, but it was actually just a delayed ovulation! I started taking agnus castus a few months ago and it really helped me.

Toastedsesame · 15/02/2021 16:52

Thanks @Rose2108 that is interesting, this time round is actually a lot earlier than normal for me, I've been cd26 in the past but usually its around cd18-20 so cd16 is much earlier.

I always feel slightly nauseous during ovulation but the main thing is I feel completely exhausted and wiped out! Googled it and google just kept saying “it’s normal to feel XYZ before your period”. But just before my period/on my period I feel great! It’s ov that’s the problem!

Toastedsesame · 15/02/2021 19:38

@Asthenia I have felt very slight nausea around ovulation before, usually in the morning when I've just woken up but nothing like this... I feel full on unwell, haven't eaten anything all day, just got no appetite. Wondering now if its something else! I had a covid test yesterday (surge testing area) thats come back negative today so its not that.

Every month. I know I'm going to ovulate when I get car sick driving myself and also looking at my phone. I then get it again before I get my period. Apparently the ovulation nausea is extra progesterone.

I meant oestrogen Hmm
Toastedsesame · 15/02/2021 20:01

@Kally9 Interesting! Maybe its oestrogen causing my sickness. I get confused between the two. Everything has made me feel sick today, even the smell of fresh air on my toddler after he came home from a walk fgs!
