TTC baby number 2..

I’m new to MumsNet but really hoping to find some friendly helpful ladies who are also TTC. I am a mum to one beautiful boy already (he will be 8 in April). My partner and I are desperate for another baby. My partner is not the father of my DS, he has no children of his own. I am 28 and he will be 40 in August so a 12 year age gap.

I wondered if anyone else was in a similar boat? We have been TTC for 6 months or so, though probably not as well as we could be. I suffer with a bladder condition which means BD can be painful and my BD drive pretty low which makes things tough!

This month I’ve been tracking properly currently 4 days of HIGH flashing smiley on the ovulation test but no peak as yet (we have done the baby dance twice so far) planning again for Tuesday and keeping everything crossed this is the month for us!

Any support, tips, experiences welcome!

Hi @MumofOne93 ! Welcome to Mumsnet! This is my 2nd month ttc but first "proper" month as last month was first off the pill. I'm 34 and my partner is 37, I have an 11 year old from a past relationship and he hasn't any kids. I had a bit of a mad cycle this month, had 11 days straight of flashing smileys and then got my peak on Friday but I'm only ovulating today judging by symptoms and haven't had a bbt temp spike yet. So I'm counting tomorrow as 1dpo (cd20) and hoping my bbt will confirm it in the morning!

Ive not used opks this month so hoping we dtd around the right time but planning to use them next month if AF arrives. Im due period on 22nd Feb so in tww now and planning on waiting till missed period to test

I hope this is our month! I'm increasingly aware of my partners age (he doesn't want to be an old Dad) and my sons age I'm worried that a huge gap will mean there is less of a bond between them.

@GreysEmma hi hun. I'm new to this site. Is opks just the ovulation app downloaded?.
I came off the pill in nov, cell pregnant in dec but had a mc in jan. So sad. I have 2 kids already. My period hasnt started back but pregnancy test now says negative so hoping ttc before period, even better when it comes so I can monitor ovulation.
