Positive OPK when AF due

I’m new to this so please excuse the long post. OH and I have been TTC our 4th child. I had my contraceptive implant removed in October and AF within a week. Another AF Nov, Dec- 28-30 day cycle. Covid struck both of us over Christmas. No AF at all in January. I’ve never missed AF unless pregnant but had lots of BFN so presume Covid knocked ovulation that month. I decided to use OPK’s to try and work out where I was in my cycle. I’ve not used these before so this is all new. Got positive OPK 29.01.21.

I’m presuming AF is due around now but I’m still using OPK to see what things are like. No signs of AF arriving but no pregnancy symptoms either. Today- I’ve had another BFP. Result line definitely darker than test line! I’m confused!! Does this mean I’ve ovulated twice? Any help grateful received.

Have you taken a pregnancy test recently? I would do one asap if you haven't. A positive OPK around your period being due could well be an indication that you're pregnant.

If it's not that, it could be that you're about to ovulate. An OPK can only indicate the LH surge that shows you'll probably ovulate within the next day, not that you've actually ovulated. Perhaps your body geared up to ovulate around the 29th but didn't for whatever reason so is having another go.

Either way, get another pregnancy test to be sure. Best of luck!

Agree with pp to do a pregnancy test. Your OPK may well be picking up pregnancy hormones.

Do a pregnancy test, OPKs can pick up hcg. That's what happened to me! 🙂 Good luck!

Hey I was late for my period and didn't have any preg tests and it was a Sunday eve (we weren't trying!) so I did two OPK and both so positive, I am now 8 weeks... :)

Oh my goodness ladies!! I had NO idea that OPK’s could detect pregnancy! I had some tests in with the OPK’s so I’ve done one. It’s positive! 😲🎉 I’m in totally shock (and ecstatic!)! No symptoms yet and early days but didn’t expect this! Thanks so much for all your help and advice!
