Anyone an expert with BBT charting?

i’ve been TTC for 6 months now. I have regular cycles 28 days and all the normal signs of ovulation etc, i’m 26 years old.

I use ovusense, and also chart with FF. Ovusense has still not confirmed ovulation in this cycle, but FF has on the day that expected. I’m confused because i had all the normal signs around my positive opk such as fertile CM which has now gone. I have linked both charts. Does it look like FF is right, and ovusense is just not confirming for some reason? Please help. I’m sure I ovulated on CD16.

I’ve attached pictures of my FF chart and my ovusense chart.

You've got a lovely temperature jump, so FF looks right to me.

Amz6219 · 13/02/2021 09:06

I’m no expert but definitely looks like FF is right x

LemonDrizzle44 · 13/02/2021 09:14

FF looks right. That's a nice jump.

i really hope so :'( it's frustrating me so much. Ovusense costs so much money and has 99% accuracy apparantly.. so no idea why it is doing this. I imagine in a few days it will confirm ovulation on something silly like CD18 or 19 even though i'm sure i ovulated on CD16. Dreading that negative test again in 2 weeks :(

FF is right. Ovusense is fab for taking and plotting the temps but unfortunately its confirmations are not always correct! I did love ovusense but just read and interpreted the charts myself rather than relying on ovusense confirmation. Your chart is so clear, absolutely classic and clear rise. It looks great!

Good luck

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 11:27

@libbyidk I have just ordered myself an ovusense after losing the plot with OPKs! How have you found it?

Redpanda21 · 13/02/2021 11:30

@libbyidk your Ovusense will confirm in a few days when your green line catches up, which is your 5 day rolling temp. You’ll see that line if you switch views on the app.

The ovulation window pops up when you’ve already ovulated, or it does when I have.

I think Ovusense will confirm ovulation a day after ff.

libbyidk · 13/02/2021 14:38

@MrsRosaline i have found it very easy and convenient to use, it has just been confusing when things like this happen and you don't know which app is correct or not! Sometimes it can take a long time for it to confirm ovulation which can make you a little nervous.

@Redpanda21 Really? I didn't know that. If you think it'll confirm a day after FF, would you assume ovusense to be correct or FF to be correct? Stuck which one to go off! X

@libbyidk that's great thanks. I also read that they confirm ovulation a few days after it happens.

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 15:09

@libbyidk did you have to enter in your temperature to FF or is there a way to sync it with the ovusense?

libbyidk · 13/02/2021 15:10

@MrsRosaline I had to enter each one manually! x

OP posts:
MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 15:11

Did you take an ovusense reading and enter it in? Or were you also using a thermometer and taking your temp manually everyday?

libbyidk · 13/02/2021 15:14

@MrsRosaline I took the ovusense reading and entered it into FF x

MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 15:18

@libbyidk oh great - does it give you an overall reading in the morning then or something?

libbyidk · 13/02/2021 15:20

@MrsRosaline i believe so yes, you just connect it to the little thing that comes with it every morning and it puts the reading straight onto the app x

OP posts:
MrsRosaline · 13/02/2021 15:37

@libbyidk ah so you see the temperature reading on the ovusense app and then type it into FF?

Redpanda21 · 13/02/2021 16:54

@libbyidk tbh I don’t think it’s overly crucial being a day either way, I’ve wrecked my head over and over again wondering the same and if I have BD’d enough etc.

My cycle before last Ovusense and FF confirmed CD10 but going by pains it was definitely CD13 and there was a clear thermal shift the following morning.

libbyidk · 14/02/2021 07:34

@Redpanda21No idea what’s going on. No confirmation this morning and the ovulation window has dissappeared, but the difference in temps would say i ovulated. Holding out hope that ovusense is just messing up :(

From ovusense's website: If you have not received a confirmed date of ovulation then there are insufficient data to provide evidence that ovulation has occurred in this particular cycle. You may still see that a rise has occurred, and that could mean you have in fact ovulated but the rise was too “slow” to trigger the detection rule.

MrsRosaline · 14/02/2021 08:26

"The detection message is displayed 2-5 days after you have ovulated, by which time it has much more data to make the calculations and that’s the reason why it’s able to pick up more ovulations, more accurately"

Redpanda21 · 14/02/2021 15:38

@libbyidk my ovulation window disappeared last month for a few days then suddenly pinged up to say I’d ovulated 4 days before.

I reckon tomorrow you will get confirmation x

Moominmiss · 14/02/2021 16:50

I had this happen on the cycle I got my bfp.

I also input my temps from OvuSense into FF.

OvuSense took days to confirm my ovulation and then when it did it calculated it to be a day later than what FF had put, even though I was using the sand temps and had a clear rise.

I went with FF ovulation date as if OvuSense was correct then I’d have got my bfp at 7dpo instead of 8.

I do massively rate OvuSense though and it took all the stress and worry out of temping.

libbyidk · 14/02/2021 19:13

@Moominmiss that is so reassuring to hear. can you remember how many days it took to confirm? if i ovulated on CD16, it has so far taken 6 days, and if it was CD17 it’s taken 5 days :( i know the app says it calculates ovulation after but it’s been longer than the app says it will take.

really hoping i get a huge surprise with a bfp at the end of this x
