Hey everyone

I’ve been lurking on here for a while because I’m driving myself crazy looking for advice!

I’ve recently come off the pill (16th Jan) and have had a withdrawal bleed but no natural period yet. My husband and I decided we wanted to start trying to conceive so have been DTD despite knowing it’s unlikely until my cycle returns to normal.

However the past week or so I have been exhausted, I’ve had cramps, bloating, vivid dreams and occasional nausea. I’ve been driving myself mad thinking maybe I could be pregnant but in the back of my mind I know this could all just be hormones!

I did a test on 6th February to check and obviously it was a big fat negative - it’s too early but I just couldn’t help myself! My question is when would you test again? A month after coming off the pill? After having symptoms for a couple of weeks?

As I’ve just come off the pill I have no idea when I ovulated (if I even did) and no idea when AF is due!

Any advice and opinions are appreciated!

I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant. I got pregnant while on the pill. So definitely possible. Have you tried the clear blue week indicator test.

When was your last bleed

I think weekly or so from now until you get AF, I think I did that but my cycle didn’t return for 3-4 months after I stopped the pill. It came back just as I’d made a doctors appointment and then I got pregnant 😂

Thanks for replying! It’s so hard to know isn’t it - I’ve read that some people will ovulate straight away and others take longer. I just feel so out of sorts at the moment, I want an answer!

I had my withdrawal bleed 19th-22nd so it’s probably still early days. Weekly is probably a good idea though if I keep feeling like I have symptoms. I did the FRER test before as I know it’s meant to be one of the most sensitive but I may try the clearblue weeks indicator.

Feel like being stuck at home with nothing to do is making me slightly obsessive!

I found them the best test as they can tell from 1-2weeks after DTD

I understand being at home can drive you crazy with your thoughts.

I wouldn’t bother with anything clear blue til you’ve had a decent line on a pink dye. If you want I test weekly there’s decent cheap tests off Amazon with pink dye and I actually found places like the pound shop and home bargains tests really reliable. Then get a frer when you think you need to confirm with something reliable. Otherwise you’re just pissing away on £8 sticks for no reason Grin

@Aquarius93
I’m exactly the same! I came off microgynon on 13th January to ttc had my withdrawal bleed 17-20 January. Currently CD45 after my withdrawal bleed and all negative tests so far. It’s all so confusing isn’t it!

I came off on 10th Jan and had all the symptoms that you have described the week before my first natural bleed came. I had convinced myself I had managed to catch quickly so was really upset when my bleed arrived.

Took me 141 days to have a first period after the pill. They can really mess things up. Others are lucky and it happens fast!
