Period late & negative test - am I just getting my hopes up?!

For the last 2 years I have always come on my AF 15DPO (i'm not sure how as I can always vary with when I come on! ) my last period was the 3rd January, so according to my app I ovulated around the 20th. My DF and I dtd within 72 hours of ovulation.. before, on the day, and the day after.

I'm currently 4 days late (19DPO) and I have been having intermittent cramps which feel like period cramps (quite strong at some points), sore boobs, tiredness, slight nausea, back ache, feeling wetness down below (TMI.. sorry!) and a bit of a metallic taste in my mouth for the last 10 days.. but when I took a test it was a BFN. Nothing has affected me otherwise i.e stress, gain/lost weight etc so at this point I'm baffled.

We have been TTC for the last 4-5 months and I feel at this point I may just be getting my hopes up and I'm not pregnant.. I'm simply just hoping that I am!

Does anyone have any advice? success stories? just anything lol? I feel like I am driving myself insane because I want it so bad!

@fyre hi and welcome! It's such a frustrating time waiting for AF or a BFP.... we're you taking pregnacare vits? As we have discussed they can unfortunately mess up your cycle :(

I do know of some ladies who haven't had a BFP until they were quite late for their period so I'm keeping that in mind but I've tested so many times now. I'm on day 42 and never been this late.

@fyre welcome! Keeping fingers crossed for you! Have you been taking the pregnacare vits? I find my AF brings symptoms so similar to pregnancy symptoms I have to try and ignore them now! It’s all so tricky but not out the race until AF arrives :)

@pixiedust21 it’s so frustrating at any time isn’t it, fingers crossed we both get normal cycles back soon. By the way I know a few people who have conceived on their first try so fingers crossed for you.
I’ve counted myself out this time so just trying to stay relaxed - it’s so easy to get caught up in it all. We’ve been TTC for about 7 months now but I wasn’t tracking ovulation or anything like that until recently - did you do anything in addition to the vits?
My cycles have been regular apart from one month, I had a 20 day cycle which was really short for me. Just trying to stay positive and know that it’s a good sign that’s the majority of my cycles are regular.
Is this your first time TTC?

I just got really frustrated about it today because we had been talking and planning to TTC for a while and I'm just like.... why have I got a mad cycle on month 1?! Haha.

But it's a good idea to relax about and I am quite generally. Hadn't been doing any tracking really, was just taking the vitamins. I would like to try and see what happens for a while first before I get too heavily into tracking ovulation etc as I'd probably get obsessed with it!

But yes fingers crossed cycles are back to normal soon. Just knowing roughly where I am would be a good start.

No I've just been taking multi vitamins which I have been taking for ages anyway (they have folic acid in already), I'd heard they mess your cycles up and mine are irregular as it is! Yeah I've heard of a few who have had very late BFP too, 🤞🏼that's us too!

How's everyone getting on? Day 45 now for me keep thinking I'm going to get AF as have had sore boobs and a couple of cramp feelings but absolutely nothing. Been off the vitamins for a good few days now. Grrr.

@pixiedust21 Day 49 and I’m the same! Get symptoms, think AF is arriving but then nothing and then the symptoms go. I’ve been off the tablets for weeks now so it’s frustrating but trying not to get too worried about it. We’re in this horrible waiting game together! Keep me posted, hopefully now you’re off the tablets it won’t be long, other posts I’ve read it seems AF arrives not long after stopping them but it seems to be taking longer for me

I had the cramps before and over the weekend, sometimes quite severe with some light pink spotting, all stopped on Sunday, just had headaches and dizziness since, some aches in my lower back/hips/legs.
Feeling out tho, CM seems to have dried up completely which I don't think is a good sign,
Is anyone testing today?

@fyre hm could be worth doing a test? I did at the weekend and BFN again so I’m definitely not this month as that would have been the 6 week mark so definitely would have shown.
Have you had irregular periods before?

@Hans09 yes I have irregular cycles but the longest was around 45 I think!
I think I'll test today, awaiting on an Amazon delivery!

@fyre keep us posted, keeping fingers crossed for you! Might be worth waiting for the morning to test so it’s most accurate (although you’d think it will be accurate testing on day 52).
It’s always been bang on 30 days but since TTC I’ve had a month with a 21 day cycle and a 36 day cycle (regular 30 day cycles in the middle of those) so think they have become irregular frustratingly. I have been trying to track ovulation to learn more about my cycles but I find it stresses me out a lot more so next cycle (when it eventually arrives) I will just try to relax and see what happens!
Have you TTC for long?

Omg showed husband and he can see it, testing again tomorrow in case..... it's pink so can't be an evap line??? Still faint but I can SEE it. Omg.

@Hans09 @fyre ahh it's so weird, like you say it took so long to show up. By my calculations I'm about 10 days late for AF which is mad! It also makes me suspicious it's not real and I feel like when I test again it won't be there honestly all this waiting for a line then not being sure of the line when it's there...... !!

Will test again to confirm but don't know how I can wait!!

@flower1995 yes I was starting to think surely I couldn't be as I was so late for AF but if you've ovulated late or anything it might change things - so you're definitely not out until AF comes! I calculated I was 10 days late!!

I literally can't believe it still. Try and leave it a couple of days if you can and test again xx
