Peak OPK and DTD

Hello everyone! I think I have got my peak on my OPK’s today. Would it be enough to DTD today and tomorrow?

The reason I’m asking is that DH wanted to DTD yesterday but I was too tired so passed the opportunity and I’m not worried that I’ve missed the best chance Confused

Definitely! If you have your peak today then likelihood is you’ll ovulate tomorrow so today and tomorrow are ideal ☺️

Yesterday would’ve been great too but you still have plenty of chance x

WicketBasket · 08/02/2021 12:56

Thanks so much for reassuring me @Amz6219! This TTC thing is driving me mad! I’ve been having palpitations since I saw the peak and am eager for OH to get home but also worried he will be too tired 😂😂 Oh dear Blush xx

@WicketBasket I am the same! I got a positive O this morning, we hadn't DTD since Friday and now I'm stressing because I think it's too late. I got a negative O yesterday but not sure if i tested correctly....husband doesn't get home till 730 tonight and wondering if I'll miss the window for DTD! Good luck, I hope he's not too tired when he gets home. I'll join you in the TWW tomorrow if you like xx

WicketBasket · 08/02/2021 14:25

Hahaha we are in the exact same boat @floatingflowers!
Its such a mental stress isn't it? And I am the same, actually, we haven't DTD since Thursday so am really worried we have reduced the chances.
Negative O for me too yesterday, I think I'm going to test again this evening and see what happens but I just want to get on and DTD!

This entire thing is making me crazy Grin

Ooh yes that would be nice to have a TWW buddy- just gotta get on the job this evening! xxx

@WicketBasket it really is stressful, as much as I tell myself I'm going to be calm about it all.
I think I will try and DTD today and tomorrow and hope for the best.
It's crept up on me as my app says (I know they're not always right but this is first months using OPK) I'm due to O on Wednesday so thought I had more time!.

WicketBasket · 08/02/2021 14:50

It's my third month using them @floatingflowers and its been the same for me- ups and downs in terms of the predicted ovulation date so I was thinking I would ovulate towards the end of the week!
I also feel really bad because I refused to DTD yesterday as I was way too tired and OH was up for it. Kicking myself now!

I think you're right, try today and tomorrow and see how you go. Have you heard of the SMEP plan? It advised DTD day before O, on the day of the peak and for three consecutive days afterwards- there is no way OH and I can achieve that!

@WicketBasket no I haven't heard of it, I'm new to this as my previous pregnancies I have conceived straight away. This time I'm a little more stressy as I'm getting older, have an under-active thyroid and just generally feel old at 34!
I don't think I'd be able to achieve it but I could try! Just annoyed at myself for not doing it yesterday when I had planned to but we just went to sleep.
Which OPK are you using?

Amz6219 · 08/02/2021 15:21

I did SMEP (and also 34!), think I’ve just had faint positive. Typically I didn’t ovulate until CD21 but started at CD9 and was exhausted! Worth it though it if has worked ☺️ X

Amz6219 · 08/02/2021 15:23

Oh and i only did day of peak and day after (didn’t bother with extra one or the one two days after that), needed a rest!

Peak OPK and DTD
WicketBasket · 08/02/2021 16:05

I'm the same @floatingflowers, really kicking myself for not getting on with it yesterday! Fingers crossed that we are just overstressing and its actually fine Smile And please don't feel down about the process, I get that its super frustrating and that your previous pregnancies were much easier (yay Smile) but I am sending tons of good wishes your way! You got this Flowers

Wow @Amz6219 do you mean you have been DTD every day since CD9! You go girl! Grin Or you mean you started SMEP on CD9? oops I've seen your second post now and its clarified it!
This is it exactly, it's so tiring and I think with shift work we are both flagging a bit xxx

floatingflowers · 08/02/2021 16:48

@WicketBasket we're both going to have to get busy tonight and tomorrow and hope for the best! ThanksBlush

floatingflowers · 09/02/2021 08:36

Morning ladies. I hope you're all well!
@WicketBasket oh what a nightmare it was last night! We were both so so tired but we managed to drag ourselves to it, and my son, who never wakes up decided to knock on the door at the wrong time! By the time my husband had settled him back into bed, I fell asleep 😩😩😩
So I think our chances this month are very very very slim.
I hope your night was much more productive than mine 🤣

WicketBasket · 09/02/2021 15:19

Oh gosh @floatingflowers that sounds awful! But at least you managed to DTD! My OH and I got into a massive fight and ended up being really angry with each other so there was zero productive DTD going on! I’ve definitely lost my chance this cycle and my peak has shot right down so I’m definitely out.
I’m super upset Sad Cried so much I look like a puffer fish today. Please keep me posted on how you go though! xxx
