Have you conceived whilst breastfeeding?

I have birth 17 almost 18 months ago.
I'm still breastfeeding my boy 2-3 times in day and 3times during the night. He goes to nursery, started in September and in December I had my first period but haven't had one since.
I have used opks every day and last week had positives for three days I'm a row. We had sex three times over a five day period and on the third positive day I also had loads of EWCM, we had sex that night.
I just don't know if I did actually ovulate though so just looking for stories of people who did conceive as they breastfed.

I conceived while EBF when my little boy was 4/5 months old. It ended in miscarriage unfortunately but yes it’s possible. Once the miscarriage passed my little boy was weaning and I’ve had regular periods (every 27-32 days) since.

Yes I’m. 7 weeks and still breastfeeding my 22 month old, but only at bedtime and if he wakes overnight. I has to cut out all other feeds for my periods to come back properly. It does sound as if you’re ovulating so hope you get a positive soon

I conceived while feeding about the same amount as you when my first was around 18 months old.

Yes, I’m currently 31 weeks. I was still BF my 18 month old, only twice a day though and he was sleeping through the night without feeding.

Yes, conceived while bf a just turned 1 year old. Successful pregnancy. I had had 1 period before getting pregnant.

I did. Dd only fed once at bedtime and once in night and once in morning. Conceived ds when she was18 months

I'm six weeks pregnant and I'm still breastfeeding my 13 month old.
I got my first period back since having her when she was 11 months (December) and conceived a couple of weeks after that.

I did stop feeding her during the day quite a while ago now though, although she does feed quite a lot still at night.

Conceived when she was bang on 2, but I had gotten period back at 5mo and could tell clearly I was ovulating long before. Good luck

Yes; DC1 was 10m and only partly weaned when I found out I was expecting DC2.

Yes.

Not me, as we had quite a big gap between dcs, but a couple of friends have, no bother. Very quickly for one couple when they expected it to take ages, as their first did.

Yes. DD was 12 months exactly when I conceived DC2. Exclusively breastfed (as in we didn't give any formula but she was eating a lot of solids by then so only BF first thing and before bed).
My periods returned at 5 months, once she was sleeping long periods (8+ hours) at night.

I’m 12 weeks and my 21 month old still feeds day and night. I only had my periods back for a few month and they’ve been irregular so I didn’t think it was possible. Bit of a surprise when we found out why I’d been feeling so sick!

Yes. Accidentally. And I was also taking the mini-pill and hadn't had a period yet! The age gap was 16-17 months so I guess I conceived when DD was under 8 months. I was certainly breastfeeding then, but maybe not that much.

First attempt, late 30s. Periods only returned at 23 months pp but were regular from then on. Think not unusual to be irregular though and doesn't mean you're not ovulating

One thing to be aware of is that it increases the chance of (fraternal) twins!

I stopped bfing at 22w pg. DS1 was 22 months and I was exhausted. My milk levels had dropped and feeding was taking ages.

However, I managed to get pg in the first month of trying. DS1 slept well in the first four months and my periods had returned as soon as I stopped bleeding after the birth (retained placenta & infection so it took a while).

Yes. I conceived DS when DD was 9 months old. Still very much breastfeeding.

Yes twice.

Exclusively BF 4mth old and got pregnant.

I struggled to conceive second child until I'd stopped breastfeeding. Third child was ten years after second so it wasn't an issue. I got pregnant first month with third at 39! I now have an eight month old and still not ovulating and periods haven't returned. This works for me as I don't want any more kids!
