Desogestrel

Hi, I’m around a week and a half into my 4th month of desogestrel and for the past two weeks I’ve been bleeding off and on. It’s super random, it was constant for the first week but the second week I’ve stopped in an afternoon and started again the following afternoon then stopped again a day or two later.
I did have light spotting in the first month of this pill but that was supper light and consistent and once it stopped it stopped instead of being off and on like this one.
Has anyone else had anything similar? Or any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
I was on the implant before this and had no problems until it moved 2 years into my second one.

Reading with interest as I'm also having irregular bleeding on this pill. It feels like I'm having a period every 2 weeks at the moment. I stopped breastfeeding about 6 weeks ago so I thought this may have something to do with it but it seems like this pill does cause irregular bleeding anyway

I contacted my local clinic too and they advised that the majority of women actually take 6 months to fully adjust to this pill rather than 3 so she suggested to stick it out and see what it’s like that after that. I think I’ll be looking for an alternative if it’s not settled by then though because it’s frustrating when you’re not sure what you’re going to get from one week to the next.

I have been like this with Noriday (Northestrone) but my pharmacy says it can no longer get this drug (and not many women on it!) and so given me Desogestrel, I’m nervous about changing (it does nothing for my stress levels) just hope I have no problems. Watch this space.
