Currently have a coil in place (Mirena), planning on TTC end of the year absolutely no experience (no kiddos yet never tried) just wondering how long before TTC should i have the coil out ? Anyone any experience they could share ?

Hi! I had mine removed in September as I was told you needed a few months for your uterus lning to thicken and cycles to go back to normal. We started TTC in Jan after 4 cycles of leaving it to regulate and now on cycle 2 without any luck so far Sad not sure if that's due to the coil.

I had mine out a couple of years ago and got pregnant with DS that same month. Might happen sooner than you think! This time round it’s taken over a year.

@lizzeybenett I conceived the same month after having my Mirena coil taken out, in August 2018 and my little boy was born May 2019 the nurse told me you could even be pregnant straight away if you've had sex in the last 5 days. I had my coil in for 4 years previous and didn't get AF for 3 of those but none of that seemed to matter. Everyone is different but hopefully that helps ❤️ sending lots of luck and baby dust your way xx
