CB digital ovulation tests

Im a bit confused.
I've had flashing smiley face for 3 days.
The instructions say to test in the morning but then say you can test more than once per day once you have high fertility.

Do I need to test more than once per day?
If so why?

Hi @fairgame84

I used CB digital tests for the first time this month.

I used them for 8 days with 2 non-fertile days and 6 flashing smileys and became a bit frustrated (and worried I wasn't ovulating!) so began testing twice daily from day 9 - once in the AM when I got up and once in the late PM before dinner. On day 9 my LH surge was detected on my second test of the day - i.e I had a flashing smiley in the morning, but this was then static in the afternoon. Lines on the test stick were so vivid too vs. the AM test.

I think catching it this early with the second test gave DH and I a longer window, whereas if peak had begun that afternoon but I hadn't tested until morning I would have missed 12 hours of opportunity!

This was my first month using them and third month TTC and we got a positive test earlier this week. Unfortunately it's now looking like a potential chemical pregnancy, but I will be buying more of the digital tests when we begin trying again as they have clearly been very accurate.

Hope this helps!

Thankyou.
Sorry about your potential chemical, I hope it's not Flowers

I get it now you've explained i think. So the peak fertility is a small window and even though you get the static face for 2 days, the peak might not last that long?
So finding out the peak earlier means you can dtd earlier and hopefully catch on.

I'm working all weekend so can only dtd once each day after work but if I've not peaked before Monday I'll test twice on Monday.

Typically ovulation is around 24-36 hours after the LH surge. There is a higher chance of pregnancy with dtd within a few days of predicted ovulation and right before ovulation happens as opposed on on the day itself/day after as the egg is only viable for up to 24hrs or so after release so detecting the surge earlier could work in your favour.

The digital tests just give you the static for 2 days as ovulation could occur any time up to 36 hours from your first static smiley.

Fingers crossed for you!

I used this with success my first month. I had 7 days of flashing before my solid smiley, I only tested in the morning. You can also keep an eye on the darkness of the lines when you eject the test - i could tell the solid smiley was coming as line was getting darker and darker.

Good luck!

Im on day 5 of flashing smileys. I tested last night because the line was quite dark yesterday but it was barely there last night so I'm sticking to mornings.
Hoping for my static smiley soon. Were both getting fed up of having sex now 😂

@fairgame84 same here I'm on day 5 of flashing smileys now and I had a few ovulation symptoms a few days ago and a temp drop followed by a spike on my bbt chart, but no peak on opks! Getting a bit frustrated even tho it's only cd14, I need to chill out!

fairgame84 · 08/02/2021 09:58

Fixed smiley this morning 😁
Im cd 14. My cycle app gives me totally different fertile days to the opk so I'm hoping this is my lucky month.
