When do you ovulate...

So I'm just wondering roughly at what day you ovulate.
I'm on a 26-28 day cycle and I don't keep track of it other than using an app to estimate the day which is usually CD14.
I'm wondering for those who actually know when they do ovulate, what CD is it and how long are your cycles.
Thanks 😊

Textbook would be CD12-CD14 but very few women are textbook! Ovulation can change month to month but your luteal phase will remain the same - average is between 10 and 16 days.

My luteal phase is 13 days and my cycle ranges from 28-33 days usually. Most common is 29 days so with 13 day luteal phase I ovulate usually on CD16.

Confirm with ovulation predictor kits which detect surge in LH (happens approx 12-36 hours before ovulation). I have just started temperature charting this month which confirms ovulation but way too much if you’re new to it! Apps and OPKs are great :) x

@Amz6219 thanks that's really helpful.
I think I'm just interested to see what CD everyone ovulates with their cycle length.
I'm using OPK this month in hope that I catch a positive but not going to be too disheartened if I don't. xx

My cycle length is 28-29 days and my LP is 14 days so I either ovulate on CD14 or 15. I would highly recommend using OPKs as app predictors can be way off x

thislittlebird · 05/02/2021 12:01

I have a 29 day cycle 90% of the time (very occasionally a day or two longer) and I seem to ovulate on day 17/18. I used CB monitor this month and my LH surge was day 15 so it looks like I ovulated 48 hours after LH surge. It’s very variable even with similar length cycles, I would definitely test or temp to find out when yours happens.

Amz6219 · 05/02/2021 12:20

Oh yes I will say two pregnancies - I ovulated CD19 and CD14 so 5 day variation. OPKs definitely worth it, I’d recommend CB dual hormone ones to take any stress/confusion out of it x

28 day Cycle
OD anywhere between CD16-CD18

BWaiting · 05/02/2021 17:14

@Amz6219 thanks. I've just gone and ordered the CB OPK's. Told myself I wouldn't and I would just DTD every other day but I've been sucked in! I think it's more because id like to know the exact day although I know it can change from month to month.

@ForeverHopeful17 ordered...here comes the crazy POAS woman! FW apparently starts today (CD9) according to my app and the OPK's arrive tomorrow.

Roughly 29 day cycle, ovulate day 21 Sad would love a nice long luteal phase!

Amz6219 · 05/02/2021 17:34

Get cracking tonight @BWaiting 😆

Your first result on CB will probably be blank circle (low fertility) whilst it gauges your baseline x

BWaiting · 05/02/2021 17:41

Thanks @Amz6219 ! I already have tonight marked as one of our days 😂 I was never like this with my first!
So I will start with the OPK on Sunday morning and my app shows Wednesday as my peak day (I know that's not set in stone) but is there a chance that I'll get some indication from the OPK next week? x

I ovulate between CD14 and CD18 with my cycle ranging 27 - 32 days. If you're worried about missing it try to DTD every other day or at least twice a week from a day or so after the end of your period. Obviously every other day is better, go until about CD 21 if possible.

Pip1903 · 05/02/2021 19:54

@BWaiting Hi my cycles are similar to yours 24-26, this month I tried the clearblue advanced ovulation test and got my peak CD10 so ovulated CD11/CD12.
12dpo tomorrow...no symptoms but staying hopeful 🤞
Good luck on your ttc journey 😊 x

BWaiting · 05/02/2021 20:09

@FoxInSocks2 thanks, yes the plan is to every other day. Last month first cycle of TTC sillily I decided to DTD 4 days in a row around the time I thought, completely wore me out and sucked the fun out of it. Definitely not doing that this month! x

@Pip1903 thank you, good luck with the rest of your cycle, I hope it's your month! Keep us posted Xx

@BWaiting we did that first month too!

Toastedsesame · 05/02/2021 20:17

My cycle is mostly 33 days with ovulation on day 18.

Nat4392 · 05/02/2021 21:56

Generally my cycles were 24 days, ovulating on day 13, so only an 11 day LP which wasn’t ideal.
Using the tests was a great way to check it. After a while you learn your own signs and it’s pretty easy to pinpoint by tracking cm/cp.

Arrierttyclock · 06/02/2021 09:54

I've just come off the pill but I've only been on it a few months so I know my cycles are v short. This
Month I ovulated on day 10 after WB

Arrierttyclock · 06/02/2021 09:54

Well flashing smiley on day 10

Dogsandbabies · 06/02/2021 10:00

I am always CD 8/9. As soon as I worked that out I got pregnant immediately. All three times.
