Am I Pregnant?

I had intercourse on January 9th (I am on birth control, and was on day 3 of a new pack). I took my sugar pills this past week and had light brown/red mucous for 2 days. I start my new birth control today. I took a test this morning and it came back negative. Any thoughts?

If the last time you had sex was January 9th and you’ve got a negative test, what makes you think you’re pregnant Confused

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 23:39

I just have not been feeling like myself these past couple of weeks since it happened. I have also been on google a lot which probably has not helped

But you didn’t say you had any specific pregnancy symptoms, and with a negative test, it’s really vanishingly unlikely to be that.

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2021 23:40

You have a negative test.
You have been using contraception.

You are highly unlikely to be pregnant.

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 23:42

The only symptom I would say I am having is underarm pain which is progressing towards my breasts but the breast themselves and areolas do not feel different. I think this is making me more nervous.

I don’t think that is generally a common pregnancy symptom. You’re on contraception and the test is negative...step away from google.

PurpleDaisies · 04/02/2021 23:43

The pill can give you pregnancy like symptoms, especially if you have convinced yourself you are pregnant.

There is no reason to think you are pregnant based on what you’ve written here.

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 23:44

Okay! Thank you for being rational with me and easing my mind!

Your underarms contain your lymph nodes. Sounds like you're battling an infection of some kind.

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 23:47

@Affor I got the covid vaccine last Friday due to my profession and the pain started the day after but progressed more down. I am also having sharp pains in my lower abdominal area/ uterine area that is giving me concerns.

OP posts:
Affor · 04/02/2021 23:51

Where abouts in your cycle are you? Could be period or ovulation pain?

Do you have anxiety/ health anxiety?

crissy22 · 04/02/2021 23:53

@Affor I take birth control and I am about to start my new pack tonight. I have not been diagnosed with anxiety but the past few weeks I have been very stressed and anxious about this whole situation plus college stress added.

It does not sound like pregnancy at all.
The arm pain isn't a pregnancy symptom and you've said it started after your jab so it's most likely that.

Uterine pain could be anything so call your gp if you're concerned.

If you were pregnant (unlikely as you're on contraception) you'd expect to have a blazing positive on a test by now going by your dates.

Hope this eases your mind.

ttcjourneyxo · 07/02/2021 01:46

My sister had the vaccine, followed by armpit pain the following day and swollen lymp nodes! Not sure if this is any help but her dr checked her over and confirmed side effect from the jab x

ScaredKat22 · 07/02/2021 04:13

@ttcjourneyxo I did go to the doctor and they gave me medicine to hopefully help with the pain! Most likely it is from the jab. We will see hopefully!

Name change fail?

Why do you keep posting about this?

You’re using contraception, took the morning after pill, and had a negative pregnancy test.

You’re not pregnant.
