Any knowledgeable TTC people - if I came off the pill 16 days ago (mid-packet), when would I be able to do a pg test?

Ooh that was a long title!

I have a few signs that I may be pg (but not enough to be sure) - which would be a major shock so soon after coming off the pill.

Took my last pill 16 days ago (this was midway through a packet) so as all tests say they are 99% accurate from 1st day that period is due, when would that be for me?? I took a test on Saturday which was negative and don't want to waste another one if it is too early.

Does that make sense?

assuming combined pill - I would assume at least 3 missed pills - probably more realistically 7 - before ovulation, then add another fortnight on top of that for earliest time to test. So I would give it another week before testing again.

Total - thanks for that advice. I guess that was what I was trying to ask in a very roundabout way is how long after stopping do you ovulate .

I will sit tight for another week and see if the symptoms get more obvious in the meantime.

CBG, don't want to be pessimistic but I stopped my pills halfway through packet last month. I was convinced I was pregnant with all the symptoms I had, symptoms I don't normally get with my period. I excitedly tried 4 hpt's but unfortunately AF was 5 days late. I think possible coming off the pill had mucked up my normal monthly routine. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

Sorry, me too although i didn't come off mid pack. I had every single symptom i had with ds (lots!) and turned our to be hormones all over the place after comin off pill Hope that's not the case fir you but I'd hate you to put yourself through what I went through. I was also 4 days late and sone people go a lot longer.

Thanks for the words of wisdom - I am trying not to get too excited because I do suspect it is probably my hormones going a bit doolally.

Plus I really didn't want to get pg so quickly but have come off the pill a couple of months before we really do want to TTC to give my body time to get back to normal - so I won't be too disappointed anyway.

How do you know whether you are 'late' after stopping the pill as I have no idea when to expect my period anyway?

Ditto me, I am in a similar situation.

I took my last pill on 13th October 2007 as am looking to conceive asap.

When I took my last pill I was already having some breakthrough bleeding but that stopped after a few days. Since then I haven't had a withdrawl bleed, however feeling really under the weather.

Have had ocassional sore (.)(.), horrible taste in my mouth and dizziness even when I'm lying down.

I've had all sorts of aches and some PMT like pains in my groin but no sign of AF.

I'm not sure if these symptoms were related to the pill or just my body getting back to normal?

I am also confused why I haven't had a withdrawal bleed or an AF? I didn't have AFs at all on the pill so no idea when would be late, any ideas?

Sorry if this is too many questions and if I sound like a hypochondriac (sp?) but any advice out there would be gratefully received!
