I’m ttc baby no 2. Last time when I was using opks the test line gradually got darker until i got a positive. I’m currently 3 days away from when I expect ovulation to be and I’m getting the faintest test line ever, sometimes not even a line. I’m testing 2-3 times a day, not drinking too much and making sure I’m holding my urine for at least 2 hours so I’m doing everything i should be! Is it normal that the lines are so faint? Will i get a positive test out of nowhere? It’s already stressing me out so much. I hate ttc!!

Yes, it can be normal. It just depends on the sort of LH surge you have. Two days before I get my peak my line is usually non existent. The day before my peak it only slightly darkens but still very light. And then when I do peak, it can be very sudden. Don't stress. Keep testing everyday and you won't miss it 🙂 good luck!

I randomly ovulated CD 21 this month despite it usually being 16-/17. The human body is mean! I’d keep testing twice a day between 10am-8pm and hopefully you’ll catch your peak as well as observe other ovulation symptoms.

Half of women apparently have rapid onset LH surges, I am same. It can all happen with a day or two - faint to peak then gone. I am finding the premom ovulation app really useful to help track and understand ovulation as my opk use has never been that great.

This month (today) I am testing every few hours to pinpoint it. Within about six hours i went up to a possible peak then down. Will see what it does tomorrow Grin

Mine are rapid!

@Wibblewobble99 why 10-8? I usually do first thing- is that no good?

I’ve seen some day 10-8pm or others 12-8pm. Most women have a surge in LH in the morning, and those levels can be picked up in your urine about four hours later. So your morning OPKs may pick up on residual hormone
