Hi all

So I am recovering from a ectopic pregnancy which was treated via the expectant management so no need for the injection or surgery which I am thankful for however I am so worried about the condition of my tubes I no I will need a referral for a HSG for this which I probably won’t get for a while... I am also worried about the cramps iam having my HCG blood test came back negative today but I am still experiencing cramps but no bleeding or discharge I feel like because I never had a final scan to show that my tube was all clear I am still in limbo. I feel so lost I am scared of my fertility and still coming to terms of a much wanted loss.

If anyone has been through this please tell me there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel.

Thank you xx

Hi I have just made a mums net account in order to reply to you, as I didn't want you feeling alone, I have been scouring the internet tonight looking for people like me, looking for positive stories etc, I don't know if I am going to be much help because I am in the same boat as you really, and I think our dates are probably the same
my last period was 27th dec
found out I had ectopic 4 weeks ago now
treated with expected also-
and I think I got my period today (but also first time of having sex properly since the whole thing as have honestly been feeling so low so was also wondering if it could have been that that led to the bleeding) but I spoke to my OBgyn this week as when I tried to have sex last week was a bit painful and in general I just still feel very tender and achy around my left side/left hip but he said was totally normal to feel tender for a while, I guess its a bit like tearing a muscle then letting it heal for a few weeks...for me, doing a pregnancy test a few days after my last blood test at the hospital (HCG was 7.4 when they did my final test) and the prep test being negative confirmed to me that I was finally in the all clear, now just left with the emotional hole I feel inside. from what I've seen online we are lucky to have been able to use expectant management as it does the least damage to the body/tubes etc, so I am trying to take some positivity from that at least.
not the response I'm sure you'd hoped for, as I pretty much where you are but if you google- Ectopic pregnancy expectant management Mumsnet - a lot of great threads come up.

sending you my best wishes for your healing xx

It might just be your body going back to normal after a traumatic event, possibly peroid (dependingg how long ago ectopic was) I had a ruptured ectopic June 2019 unfortunatly lost my tube but went for the HSG to check other tube all clear, still no luck yet but I scoured the internet, read up about serrapeptese supplement tablets I’ve just copied and pasted this little bit of info from google... “Serrapeptase enzyme can help unblock fallopian tubes by breaking down/dissolving the dead scar tissue. Its shown to work as early as 6wks but can take much longer, depending on the person. They say to expect to take it for 4-6 months.
Hope this helps and good luck with everything, also I’m really sorry for your loss it’s such a hard thing to go through x

Hi @jessica26A Thankyou so so much for your reply much appreciated!!! Yes I have heard this too as it’s self resolved i am hoping it’s less damaged caused!!! I started using a clear blue digital ovulation test this month as it’s my first month after my first period since my ectopic so wanted to track my cycles and I have had 3 days of low fertility and today had a lovely flashing smiley face so fingers crossed my cycles are getting back to normal now!! My first period came right on time to my pre ectopic cycles as I forgot to rest my period tracker.. I am not ttc at present maybe in a few months xx

@MumOf2LittleMinions57 hi have only just seen your post. I had an expectant management ectopic last September. I was diagnosed with a pregnancy of unknown location but had a positive pregnancy test for 8 weeks so they presumed it was in my tube despite not being able to see it. I had pains in my left side up until February/March this year and then they stopped. I have now been diagnosed with PCOS too but am continuing trying to conceive. I have been having fertility acupuncture and am taking Chinese herbs. I am in the 2 week wait and a bit concerned as the pains in my left side have started again and I am petrified that it might be happening again. I did see a Consultant Gynecologist who said with expectant management once you get a negative pregnancy test all tissue has then dissolved and the tube then opens back up. Hope all ok with you xx
