Trying to not obsess when TTC

Hi,
Hoping someone out there can give some good ways of managing the obsession that is TTC!

Only recently started trying but have become a little crazy as I’ve had what could be early symptoms, but rational part knows it’s body adjusting to just coming off the pill at New Year - I’m one of those who is completely impatient and when something needs doing I’m on it straight away - so waiting for Mother Nature to do her thing is driving me nuts!

Also just wondering if anyone has any comments of their experience of coming off the pill (POP for me) and how long it took them to have things go back to normal/conceive?

Sorry for the ramble but any thought etc always gratefully received 😁

Hey! I stopped taking the pill in September and I got a withdrawal bleed pretty much straight away, everyone told me to wait a month before TTC but I went against advice and tried anyway, got
Pregnant but unfortunately it ended in miscarriage and I’m not convinced it’s not because I waited like it was recommended. I’m the exact same as you as I always want things done NOW and I hate waiting! The only advise I can give really is that pregnancy tests are expensive, it’s HEARTBREAKING seeing a negative so the more tests you do the more you expose yourself to that heartache, and if it’s a positive it will be a positive when AF is due, you’re not just going to miss unless you test early!
Every month I’ve been stressing about it but stress has a detrimental affect so I’m not helping myself, I’ve tried a relaxed approach this month (AF due Sunday so not sure if it’s worked yet 🤞🏻)
Try not to over think symptoms, they’re sooo similar to AF symptoms it’s unfair! Wish our wee was blue or something instead 😂 and last month I had ALL the symptoms but was still negative so that proves that our minds play cruel tricks.
Hope this kinda helps sorry if I’ve rambled!!

Thanks for your words, so so sorry to hear of your miscarriage, fingers crossed for you going forwards. Dr Google is never a good thing - all I've done is look online for 'oh could this be' when I know in all reality I'm being daft - blue wee would be great! It's just been good to put out to someone, somewhere, how I feel about it all as the other half and I have decided not to tell anyone we're trying (to many family and friends either having babies or asking us when we'll have one - like you can plan it!!) Plus, as I'm a little older (nearly 38) we know the odds of any time soon, if at all, are not ideal. I've put a date in the calendar to test 15/2 as that's a day after AF due if no arrived before and hopefully cycle will start to get in a pattern soon...

Yeah I completely understand you feel! I’ve been like that every single month, it’s only this month I’ve been like “ugh whatever” honestly last month I had every symptom, you name it I had it and it was negative and AF arrived on time! Which is why I’m not letting myself think like that this month! It’s really good to talk to people online, me and my partner have just bought our first house so you can imagine all the questions coming in about babies 😂 it’s so annoying! Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Crazybabylady14 I came off the pill in dec had withdrawal bleed then AF 28 days after in January currently on CD16 and no idea if ovulation as resumed the opks don't look promising 😭 i too am obsessed!! I can't help it I too want things doing yesterday 🙈 why can't we just decide ok this month its baby time. I like to be in control and I am so impatient. I'm not feeling it this month at all so I'm not going to poas this month unless I'm late. I used 5 last month because I had sooo many symptoms and its horrible getting all of the BFNs.. I hope you get a bfp soon 🙏

Hey @Crazybabylady14 it took me 5 months from coming off POP to fall pregnant so not too long but felt long enough!! Am trying for my second name and can feel myself starting to obsess like I did last time!! I think I invent pains and boob aches all in my head as well..arghh!!

Crazybabylady14 · 03/02/2021 09:42

Definitely managing to invent symptoms which are most likely just hormones or early PMS as no idea when actual period is due, although from what my cycle used to be and from withdrawal got to wait until Valentines Day for expected AF 🙄 Had a really small bleed a few days after stopping pill then nothing and about a week later what was probably just the actual withdrawal. All confusing as the last time I stopped (became single) it took 6 weeks but I guess age probably has a lot to do with that.

On the bright side the OH has never been happier now trying - since stopping pill my moods and libido are all good - and I get a cuppa and breakfast each morning in bed! Win win 😂

I came off mini pill on dec 8th and had my withdrawral bleed about 2 weeks later, fist proper period was on the 12th Jan. It can vary so much though. I ovulated (which was agony) on saturday/sunday so now in the 2ww!

I came off the pill last December (was also nearly 38 at the time), had withdrawal bleed and then fell pregnant last Feb. Currently in bed feeding my 12 week old baby. Good luck and try to enjoy the process Smile
