FRER positive or evap line?

So, tested yesterday evening. Period is due on Tuesday (2nd). Got a very, very faint line (see attached photo). Tested again just now (impatient and didn't want to wait for FMU tomorrow!) and got a very faint line just like yesterday's. Was visible within the three minutes albeit squinting. Lines are virtually the same, though - today's isn't darker.

I've read that FRER sometimes have indent lines or evap lines - anyone want to proffer a guess as to whether it's a positive or an evap line? Or, given how faint it is, is it more likely a chemical pregnancy?

Many thanks.

@DappledOliveGroves it looks pink to me, indents and evaps are grey. HCG tends to double every 48 hours so you may see a difference in the line strength tomorrow...how many dpo are you?

DappledOliveGroves · 30/01/2021 17:44

It's definitely pink. Not really sure how many DPO - just used my phone app and it told me my likely fertile period so just had a lot of sex over that period. In theory, according to app, anywhere between 10 and 14 days post-ovulation. I'm CD 21 today - have short cycles around 24 days.

Just worried - have never tested early before. First pregnancy I was late, it was unplanned and line was blindingly obvious. Second pregnancy last year - ended in miscarriage and it was the first cycle we tried and I mistook implantation bleeding for my period so again, only tested on CD28 and had strong positive. This time it's the first cycle trying again (had a six month break after the miscarriage and used condoms) so impatient to know what's happening and whether I can have a glass of wine or not!

That’s a positive for sure!

meltedgalaxy · 30/01/2021 17:50

Looks positive x

LindaEllen · 30/01/2021 17:55

Looks positive to me. Didn't even have to change the brightness on my phone or zoom in to see that one!

DappledOliveGroves · 30/01/2021 17:56

Ugh. Time is going backwards I swear. Just want to get to Tuesday morning and test then and see if it's definitely a line or not Confused

Looks positive to me.

Definitely positive to me! 🎉🎉 The pink dye tests are a lot more reliable (for no indents), FRER tend to be stark white for BFN! X

Really? God I'm so neurotic. Line for last pregnancy was completely obvious and that ended in MMC. I feel pregnant - I'm absolutely exhausted - but then part of me thinks I'm imaging things!

Just been for a wee and now have pink spotting so no clue what's going on. Guess time will tell ☹️

@DappledOliveGroves how’s it going today? Any more spotting?

DappledOliveGroves · 31/01/2021 15:52

@Cafeaulait27 thanks for asking! Still spotting on and off - brown and grainy, like it often is at the start of a period.

Took a cheapie test and got a positive (pic attached) so not sure what on earth is going on. Could be implantation bleeding I guess, or a chemical? Really don't know.

@DappledOliveGroves well if it’s not lots of bright red then sounds like it could be implantation. I guess if you wait a couple days and test again you should get a stronger line? Keep us updated! XX

TerrifiedOfTrying4No2 · 31/01/2021 22:25

I’d say that’s positive; you’re looks darker than mine but I’m not due on for 7 days (crazy tester)

Have you felt anything out of the ordinary yet? I didn’t get any symptoms at all with my DD born in 2019, not a day of nausea.. absolutely nothing!

But for a good few days now I’ve felt a hangover type sicky on and off and I feel bloated, backache and just off but a strange off; I’m never really poorly other than the odd sinus infection or tonsillitis but this just feels weird.

Tested this morning with FMU - photo attached. Fingers crossed.

@TerrifiedOfTrying4No2 - only symptoms at the moment are crushing exhaustion in the late afternoon and sore breasts. No vivid dreams. Felt sick most of Saturday but no clue whether that's related or not.

Just hoping and praying this one sticks 🙏

@DappledOliveGroves ohhhh thanks! Just as a reminder is this your first pregnancy? So exciting! X

DappledOliveGroves · 01/02/2021 14:00

@Cafeaulait27 third pregnancy. My daughter is almost 20 (had her as a teenager) and I had a MMC last July at 10 weeks.

Ah that’s lovely. I’m sorry for your loss. I also had a mc last year, at 9 weeks. That was my first pregnancy xxx
