Implantation or AF?

I would like to hear your implantation bleed experiences please? 🙂.
I'm absolutely adamant that AF has shown up 5 days early at 9DPO yesterday as it has continued into today and is requiring pads. Cramps are mild - more like a little dull ache.

Hi! I had implantation bleeding a few days before my period was due to start with my first pregnancy in September. I had some aches and then a few days of brown blood, with a tiny amount of red. I thought it was my period and was drowning my sorrows, but after a few days it stopped so I took a test and it was positive! Sadly it ended in mc at 9 weeks but it was a normal pregnancy up until that point. The implantation didn’t require pads but I did put a bit of tissue in my pants each day.

In November I had implantation bleeding 6 days before my period was due, and got a faint positive on a FR early test, but then a few days later I started bleeding more heavily and it ended up being a very early mc. I bled for about 2 weeks.

Sorry these aren’t positive endings but I’m just telling you my implantation bleeding stories - it doesn’t mean anything in terms of likelihood of miscarrying or anything.

Are your periods usually regular? Have you done a test yet? Xx

My implantation bleed only lasted about 24 hours and was literally 5 spots in my knickers? Was deffo different to a period. I know sometimes it can be mistaken for a period if you periods are usually light and short? So might be longer/heavier in some people

Thanks both for sharing, so sorry for your losses @Cafeaulait27 💜.

It's difficult to draw a comparison as I've only had one AF since coming off the pill at the start of December. Though it was a little heavier and gave more cramping than this.

I have tested this morning (now 10DPO) and BFN.
Still bleeding lightly but enough still for a pad this evening.

@glow92 how’s it getting on today?

I think if it’s implantation it will take a few more days to get a positive on a test. For me I took a test a few days after implantation bleeding stopped and got a very faint positive, and a few days after that I got a strong line. The line kept getting stronger and stronger, I even had a dark line a week after my mc. Xxx

@Cafeaulait27 48 hours now and still bleeding 😞, I was trying to stick to pads at the chance of it being implantation but now that it's been 2 days I'm convinced 100% it's AF so swapped to a tampon.. cramps still been very mild which is a small bonus. I'm not going to test anymore now and torture myself! Just once more maybe next weekend just to confirm.
Thank you asking 💜.

@glow92 ah I’m so sorry. Is your period ever this early usually? Don’t give up hope just yet.

It may also be a very early mc which I know is still not good news. This is what I had in November, I got an extremely faint positive at around 10 dpo, I tested because I had a tiny amount of pink blood. But it then just carried on and on and ended up being a two week long period which was a v early mc. But if you haven’t had any positives it may just be a very early period.

Still hoping for you that it turns out to be implantation xxx

@Cafeaulait27 thank you for sharing, I really appreciate it.. Whatever is happening I just hope I can go into this cycle as normal and just write-off January completely.
My main concern from it all is that if it is AF is that an 8-9 luteal phase can be seen as too short for successful implantation from what I've read, so I just hope this doesn't become habit.
I don't have anything to compare to as I've only had the one period since coming off the pill, so I'm worried this could be my new 'normal'.

@glow92 yeah, I guess all you can do is wait. All of this is so hard, with so much watching and waiting. I suppose you just need to try to take your mind off it and see what happens in a few days. If the bleeding stops you could test again xxx
