I thought I'd start a thread for anyone ttc for baby number 2! Please join in if you want to :)

Our dd is 14 months old now, it took nearly a year to concieve her. I had a cp last month. I'm on cd3 now.

What's everyone's ttc story? Do you have any healthy new habits for ttc? I'm making an effort to drink more water, eat more vegetables, take folic acid.

Hi! I'll join in! DD was 2 in November and been trying for 3 months. Took nearly 2 years to conceive her as I have very irregular cycles but ive taken soy this cycle and it seems to have brought OV forward loads earlier so I've just started the TWW, CD15 now. Tbh even if I don't fall this month I'll be chuffed to have a normal length cycle!

Hi.

We are also ttc baby no 2. Our first is also 14 months. I’m more anxious this time for some reason and it’s driving me mad.

I’m also trying to be more healthier, lockdown has me snacking all the time. Definitely need to up my water I used to drink loads but then baby came along and I just forget.

Frazzled99 · 30/01/2021 12:19

Hi all hope you don't mind me messaging as I've actually just had no.2. DD1 was 16 months when DD2 born so close age gap! But both were conceived using Clearblue 5 day ovulation tests. You get a smiley face when fertile and flashy smiley face when peak fertility. They're the most expensive but worked for me and means you don't have to have loads of sex haha! Good luck ladies! The transition from 1-2 is much better than 0-1 in my opinion x

IndaFlowers · 30/01/2021 12:36

Hi Ladies!

We are currently ttc no 2 (for me, my dd is 12 years old this will be hubby's first and his excitement is contagious haha!)

As DD was a bit of a surprise ttc is a whole new ball game. We played "see what happens" for a few cycles but are now actively trying.

I have a retroverted uterus and endometriosis so have started tracking cycles, scheduling DTD and trying lots of different positions. Atm we are still having tonnes of fun. Lots of lying around after wondering if "that was the time that did it" haha.

This forum is amazing! Such a wealth of information and even little details that I definitely never knew or would have thought of.

Today is CD 20 for me. We had lots of DTD during O and the other day I had a little light spotting which I've been told is a good sign. This morning I am having some cramps....the urge to test is strooooong! Are any of you finding that? I am gonna spend a fortune on tests I just know it!!

Lizzysmi · 30/01/2021 15:32

Hi all,
I am also quite keen to conceive a second child. Been trying casually for a few months now, but really tried this month because we’ve just found out my husband is due to start chemotherapy next month. Kinda feel like this is my last chance in a way, although we do have a small amount of sperm banked if we could ever afford / be able to try IVF. I also took a year to conceive my son who is now 18 months old. And since he was born I have had an ovary removed (for a suspicious cyst which turned out to be benign anyway!) so I only have one ovary to release from. I think I tend to ovulate late in my cycle - I got a positive ovulation test yesterday on day 17 of my cycle. We’d ddd every two days since around day 11 and managed another go at it yesterday so I guess I have a chance even though some of the odds are against me! I’m also taking folic acid but my weight is another challenge.
Best of luck to all of you this month and generally :-)

Lizzysmi · 30/01/2021 15:34

Also @IndaFlowers I totally empathise with the keenness to test! I spent a fortune over the year we took to conceive my son - really ridiculous amount - because I was so keen to see that pink line (don’t trust the blue tests). Going to try to resist this month, but bet I won’t be able to!!

IndaFlowers · 30/01/2021 15:40

@Lizzysmi wow never knew that. What is the difference between the pink and blue tests? I am not sure i have ever seen the pink ones.

I have ordered some frer tests that are due to arrive next week are those usually pink?

Lizzysmi · 30/01/2021 15:57

Hi @IndaFlowers it’s probably different for different people and when you test in your cycle, but personally I find with the tests that give a blue line or cross I always seem a semi blue haze and find it so hard to decide if it’s a positive. The pink line ones seem to be better for either being there or not and it being a bit more definitive. But I’m definitely not an expert! :-)
I think the frer are all pink but not 100% sure - I use the 6 days early first response ones which are expensive but as I say - the pink just seems clearer! Good luck :-)

Wowthisisreal · 30/01/2021 16:04

I'll join! DS was 2 in January... we had a half attempt TTC in December but this month we've really gone for it Grin Expecting it to take longer this time (that's what I'm telling myself anyway) because #1 was conceived first cycle.

Xxdxx2020 · 30/01/2021 18:36

Wow welcome everyone! I'm looking forward to finding out how you all get on :) ttc can be a lonely journey so I'm so grateful to have a place like this to talk.

@littlepoppet1 what is the soy supplement? I'm not sure I've heard of that one! Good luck, when are you testing? Early on or do you wait to be late?

@positivebex you sound very similar to me! I forget to drink water and I know how important it is when ttc, I'm going to have to carry a water bottle all around the house with me. It can be an anxious time, I know, but if you have any worries please let me know here and I'll try to help.

@frazzled99 thanks for the tip :) I've ordered the cheap opks and I'll see how I go using them for a few months, then I'll give the Clear Blue ones a try. I've heard a lot of good things about them. How is it with 2 little ones? I think going 0-1 will be the biggest transition, I've kept all the baby things so I hardly have to buy anything now :)

@IndaFlowers good luck! I find the tww so hard, it gets to the point where I feel any kind of cramp and all I can think about is testing! I'm a poas addict. Let us know how you get on if you decide to test, it's so exciting!

@Lizzysmi good luck this cycle! It sounds like you and your partner dtd enough over your fetile days, can't do much more than that! I'm sorry to hear your husband is starting chemotherapy, that must be so stressful to say the least. I hope you get your bfp this month xx

@Wowthisisreal welcome to the group! Wow your first was concieved first cycle!? What is your secret? Good luck :)

I'll be reading all your posts here and I'll update you on the how my opk tests go. As prepared as I can be, but I'm also trying to not plan (edit: obsess over) things too much and relax... yeah, I say that but relaxing is easy to say and hard to do!

Hey!

I'm currently trying to conceive baby number 2. Currently in the TWW.
My daughter is 10 this year, tried on and off over the years but the stress and upset made me give up. Was diagnosed with PCOS in 2019, had a scan in the December just gone and they have all disappeared so I feel confident enough to try again now!
I'm trying to eat healthier, I find it so hard because I eat when I'm bored lol! I'm taking inositol, evening primrose oil and omega 3.
My first month using fertility lube aswell as I've heard amazing things.

Hopingformydb · 30/01/2021 20:40

Also TTC #2 DD is 9, currently on CD13 first real cycle came off pill in Dec already had withdrawal bleed and AF 28 days later so trying now hoping to get a BFP soon but not getting my hopes up.. Good luck everyone x

Wowthisisreal · 01/02/2021 21:32

@Xxdxx2020 so secret but I had been off the pill for over a year and both of us had been taking conception vitamins for about 6 months (we were waiting for a big life event to pass at it took forever). And then basically DTD a lot in my fertile week. It helped that my periods are regular and I have very clear egg-white discharge which links up with when my app said my fertile week was 🤷🏻‍♀️

I never went back on the pill after having #1 and have been taking the vitamins for a while now. We will see. I've been having crazy vivid dreams for the last few nights which happened last time but I've got a feeling it hasn't worked for us this month.

Xxdxx2020 · 21/02/2021 21:21

Hi everyone, how are you getting on?

I just got my bfp!!! It looks exactly what my first bfp looked like with baby #1. I'm 10dpo I think, my app says 11dpo but I had ovulation pain a day after that supposed O-day. I took a frer yesterday and it was bfn but I took it out of the case and a pink 'evap' appeared over the day, but I'd class it as a bfn. Today's morning ic was bfn and just on a whim this evening I took an ic and a shadow kept caching my eye, I (like the crazy impatient poas addict I am) put my phone torch on the back and I could definitely see something, so next pee I took a frer and here we are!

I forgot to add pics. The lighting wasn't the best, but the line is pink and came up in about 2 mins

Aww yay, congratulations.

We also have some positive news. When I first posted I had tested and got negatives it wasn’t till 3 days later I got a bfp. So I would have been 14 dpo but I was exactly the same with my ds I didn’t get a bfp till about 15 dpo.

I’m now just full of anxiety at every cramp, and twinge and always thought with a second I would be a little more chilled out.
