Bigger than normal gap between LH surge and ovulation?

Does anyone have experience of a bigger than normal gap between LH surge and ovulation? I got my LH surge on CB advanced monitor on CD15 for the first time (OPKs didn’t work well for me) and today is CD17. Expected my temp to rise today but it dipped, so now I’m not sure if that’s a user error or if I possibly ovulate 48 hours or more after the LH shows up. Can share my chart if that’s useful but just wondered if this was more common than I realised, because most sources seem to suggest a smaller window than 48 hours. Thanks!

Hi @thislittlebird some women get a dip on ovulation day. How long have you been tracking your bbt for?

Just this month currently @mumof23188, planning to keep it up for a few months. I did do it last summer but I didn’t do it very well, wasn’t very strict about times etc and the charts were a mess however the old ones look like I could O between days 16-18. I’m trying again this month and used CB monitor too, but it surprised me when it dipped today 2 days after the peak on the monitor but a dip today on CD 17 would fall in line with the messy charts, didn’t realise it could dip on the day of ovulation.

@thislittlebird yes some people do! Mine dipped for ovulation pretty much every cycle. Good luck 🤞 ☺️

Looks like I definitely had a dip and a bit of a bigger gap post Lh surge than expected. Thanks @mumof23188!
