Luteal phase

Can anyone confirm when your luteal phase actually starts?
If I take an ovulation test and it’s positive will the next day be 1dpo? Or does it depend when the egg releases?
I usually have 14 days which has never changed before, but I’m currently on 16 days with negative pregnancy tests and no period. Is this normal or is there a chance the egg didn’t release/or much later than usual? bbt chart raised after the +opk if that makes a difference, it dropped 2 days ago very slightly.

Your luteal phase starts the day after ovulation. Once you get your LH peak on an OPK, most the time your ovulation will be the following day, with 1DPO being the day after. However this can only be confirmed with a sustained rise in temperature. Sometimes you can have multiple peaks without ovulating. So if you're not temping, there is a chance you've ovulated later than you realised.

Sorry just noticed you did say your temp was raised since the positive OPK, as it dropped 2 days ago, that could mean period is on the way. Sometimes luteal phases will be longer or shorter than normal, for no particular reason.
