Finally decided to start trying for a second child. (First is 12)! Phoned up the surgery to book in to have my coil removed- turns out it's not as simple as that and I need to have a telephone consultation with a women's health nurse first. Does anyone know why?

I had my implant removed last week and had to do the same. I think it might be due to covid, trying to reduce the number of people in the GP surgery. As soon as I said I wanted to TTC they booked me straight in for an appointment a few days later, but I think if I'd said I wanted to change contraception or some other reason they might have asked me to delay a while.
