Mooncup ttc

I looking for experiences/opinions on using menstrual cup after DTD to keep the swimmers in?

I've fallen pregnant 3 times in the last 5 years and 2 have ended in miscarriage it has taken at least a 12 cycles to fall again in between miscarriages so am probably clutching at straws.

If nothing else might make me more comfortable sleeping after sex Blush

Would the suction not pull them out afterwards?

Skybooks · 20/01/2021 20:40

@GoodGirlsRUs I've read lots of things for and against and never read or thought of that.

Hmmm

Trying to imagine inserting one without causing spillage! Depends how skilled you are OP!

BananaSmoothie20 · 20/01/2021 21:23

Not romantic and I hate using the phrase in ttc situations but have you tried legs up against a wall for 20mins after dtd?

chillichutneysarnie · 20/01/2021 21:40

I don't know if it helps to actually conceive, I've tried it specifically on a few cycles of my 10 so far with no luck, but I find it more comfortable afterwards anyway so it's a big plus on the comfort levels!

Skybooks · 20/01/2021 21:49

@chillichutneysarnie comfort is a big plus. Thanks for making me not feel mad, I've read lots of articles about it I just wanted real life experiences.

@musicalfrog I cant see how I'd spill more than using nothing and it leaking out.

Yes used them when I conceived my daughter last year xx

Skybooks · 20/01/2021 21:53

@Faye32 how long did you leave it in after?

OP posts:
Notmoreuodates5 · 20/01/2021 21:58

Sorry to be crude. Rather than faff around can you not just lie down with your legs up OP.

Skybooks · 20/01/2021 22:03

@Notmoreuodates5 I absolutely could be as I'm not currently pregnant that doesn't seem to be working. Hmm

Sperm can live for longer without direct contact with air. The theory is the cup acts in the same was a cervical cup works for insemination. The cup can keep the environment suitable for sperm to live longer.

I used it, would DTD at bedtime then put the cup in overnight

Faye32 · 21/01/2021 12:25

Skybooks - I kept them in around 8 hours each time , used them 2 days in a row . Xx

Skybooks · 22/01/2021 20:24

@Tibtab @Faye32 thank you

Hi, I'm curious if any of you ladies had success which this since last month or have read into any more pro/cons? I used mooncup this cycle and currently in the tww 🙂.

els10 · 24/02/2021 19:40

I've got pregnant twice using them! @glow92

glow92 · 24/02/2021 19:49

@els10 amazing!
I'm wondering whether to swap to the ferti-lily as it looks to 'push up' the sperm more... but if I hear enough success stories I'll stick 😂.

ICSI · 24/02/2021 19:54

I had a go with the ferti-lily yesterday but it didn’t quite go to plan! Blush

We’re going to give it another go tomorrow.

glow92 · 24/02/2021 21:03

@ICSI oh no!
Managed to get on quite well with the mooncup, would have been a different story if I hadn't read the instructions first about pinching the end before removing. I just hope it acts the same way 🤞🏼.

Annwen · 25/02/2021 01:05

A friend used her diva cup when TTC and got pregnant the second month. I'm gonna be TTC in a couple of months and will certainly be using mine. Can't do any harm can it?

Letstryagain2 · 04/08/2021 11:50

So I used the mooncup last cycle and didn't work. I am using it again this time around and wondering if this may actually be counter productive? When I pull it out the next morning I can see some white fluid in it. Just wondering if this sperm that I am actually pulling out from cervix which would have otherwise been there waiting to fertilise my egg? Any help, would be much appreciated? X
