TTC after late miscarriage

Hi all

Our little girl was born sleeping on Friday. We’ve previously been through 7 miscarriages.

I know it’s incredibly soon, and I am in no way trying to replace our little girl, but I am also absolutely desperate to conceive again.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation. And when did you start trying again?

Thank you

Hi love

I'm so sorry for your loss. It is heart breaking.
Please take time to grieve as things become clearer once you've fully processed everything.
I had a late miscarriage in Nov 2019 and although had a urge to have another baby, I was not mentally ready for the journey. So we have decided to take our time so we can gather information, plan the next pregnancy with the consultant plan etc.

I understand the urge and also understand the grieving process hence I'll say to take your time, make sure all the tests are done etc.

I'm truly sorry, things will become easier although the memories don't go away.

Lots of love

I'm really so sorry. I hope that you and your DP are supporting each other and that you also have other people to care for you both.

My daughter was born still a few months ago. I had a couple of post birth complications so we had to wait three months before TTC again. We could have ignored medical advice but we didn't and now I'm glad we had that time to grieve for her. I was desperate to be pregnant again immediately as it just felt so wrong that there was no baby in me, so empty. I think that feeling lasted a month or so, and then it stopped being desperation and more like 'normal' wanting a baby.

If being pregnant again quickly would help you and your DP, then why not. It doesn't mean you love your lost baby any less. Obviously if you've had medical advice to wait that's different.

I don't know what your plans are for your child, but if you get the chance to take her home, then dress her, sing to her, hold her as much as you can, tell her you love her. You'll remember this time.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a late miscarriage with my identical twins last July. It wasn't a straightforward birth so we waited a few months. I am now 9 weeks pregnant, we have had early scans to check how things are going. Mentally I'm doing ok but it's really hard not to think the worst, I just keep focusing on the next appointment and trying to take each day as it comes. Good luck xx
