Could I be pregnant?

Hi folks, I need some advice and I hope you people in the know can help. My last period started on the 17th December, I had unprotected sex on the 27th December. It is now the 19th January and I've had no period and also no cramps etc. Tests so far have been negative.
Has anyone with similar timescales gone on to be pregnant??

@ollibum20 and everyone, I have tested tonight and completely negative, please be so aware of these nasty evap lines 😢 I have no trust in Clearblue whatsoever now 👎🏼

@MissyMilinky

OP it definitely looks like that was a positive test - I've heard of false negatives but not false positives! Fingers crossed you get the answer you're hoping for.
I believed this originally (because I remember it being said on Lost) but false positives do happen. I've had one.

So sorry chattymum xx

Sorry to hear this. CB and Tesco's own make are my go to ones.

Hi everyone, just checking in to say, still no period and still no BFP. What is wrong with me?! 😞

Sorry to hear you're still late OP - must be very frustrating! Have you spoken to your GP? x

ChattyMum86 · 08/02/2021 15:18

Hi @MissyMilinky yeah, this happened last year and they carried out lots of bloods and everything came back normal. It's really worrying! I'm not sure what is going on 😢

I’m so sorry, this is the worst part waiting and not knowing. I would call your GP for advice as they might do a blood test but unsure with Covid etc.

Guessing you are using morning pee, I would get some cheap tests to keep checking. Most supermarkets do some for £1.

Catchingfire123 · 08/02/2021 15:20

@ChattyMum86 sorry just seen your response, is your period normally regular? Affected my stress or anxiety?

Tarantallegra · 08/02/2021 15:45

I didn't test positive until about 2 weeks after my missed period, I think it was late ovulation and low hormone levels but definitely pregnant. Speak to your GP if you're worried, I did as I thought something else was wrong and they were very reassuring

ChattyMum86 · 08/02/2021 17:20

Thanks guys, my periods are really irregular. It could well be the stress of homeschooling and working from home. 😞
I've ordered some cheapie tests as I have spent a fortune recently!
I think I will call the gp tomorrow too xx

Hi everyone! Still over here with no period and no negative BFP 🤷🏼‍♀️ first appointment at five is 1st March.

I did however wonder if any of you have had a result like this (two white lines where the positive should be) that has gone on to be BFP...

Could I be pregnant?

Your last test looks flooded, OP. The first one looks positive to me, then you tested in the evening, it may have been diluted (although I can see this was few weeks ago). Have you had any pains, cramps, spotting or bleeding at all? I think this looks into the territory of a CP or ectopic pregnancy which needs to be excluded. You need to have bloods done by your GP at least asap. I'm so sorry you're in such a limbo 💐 xx

PurplePansy05 · 10/02/2021 19:49

I'd also consider a progesterone level test and generally checking your hormone levels and egg reserve if it's confirmed you aren't pregnant too, it looks like you may have some imbalance in your hormone levels. Have you been tested for PCOS?

ChattyMum86 · 10/02/2021 19:52

@PurplePansy05 thanks for getting back to me. No cramping/bleeding etc but sore boobs and terrible mood swings 😢 I knelt down to say goodnight to me wee one last night and had a pain in one side. I have been tired despite getting early nights.

It's just awful, I'm at the stage now I wish I would just wake up with my period 😔

Thanks again so much for getting back to me ❤️

@PurplePansy05 I was tested last year as a similar thing happened and I was convinced I was going through the menopause early but results came back normal. I am not sure exactly what they tested though but took bloods.

I may push for a scan as wondered if I maybe had cysts or fibroids or something 🤷🏼‍♀️ always worrying about the big C as well 😔

PurplePansy05 · 10/02/2021 20:06

Oh @ChattyMum86 I'm so sorry 💐 Yes, you might get a scan too but EPUs are reluctant these days to scan if no pain or bleeding. But the fact you had the pain, I'd definitely tell your GP, push for a blood test to check for pregnancy and a referral to be scanned to exclude the ectopic. Then once this is done I'd be checking hormone levels. Mind you, sometimes period just skip a month, it happened to me few times too, I'm 34. In my case it was linked to travel, but it could be weight loss, high stress etc. But in your case I am concerned about the initial test, it was clearly positive, nevermind you looked at it earlier. I hope you get some answers soon, don't let them fob you off 💐 xx

ChattyMum86 · 10/02/2021 20:27

@PurplePansy05 thanks so much for your time tonight. You have been so informative 🙏🏼❤️, I will call my GP tomorrow and ask for an appointment sooner, explaining what has been happening.

Xxx

Your first test has such a clear blue line, that's confusing. Even after the time frame it shouldn't look like that.

It could be that you had an early miscarriage? 😢
