Femometer - is it worth the cost?

Hi all,

I’m due to start ttc number 2 next cycle. Last time I used CB digital and fell first time, so have bought some of those but I have heard that IC are better to pinpoint ovulation. I would be happy with a healthy baby, but as I already have DD, I would like to try and sway it a little if I can to conceive a boy so (apparently) timing is key.

I bought the femometer strips after looking at online reviews and they have a tool that helps you to analyse the strips but what I (stupidly) didn’t realise is that despite the premium cost of what essentially look to be IC OPK, there is a subscription charge for the app!

Now there are lots of little video courses etc that look pretty good and I would probably watch but is it worth the money or is it no different to eyeballing it?

Thanks!

I pay the monthly subscription and do find the app good!

I also have the Flo app and don’t find it as good/ thorough as the Femometer app.

Hi! The scanning of the OPKs is free. The premium stuff you can try out with a 30 day trial if you want? It's not worth the money though in my opinion, it's all just either super obvious stuff or just fancy stats about this month's BD patterns etc.

Thanks, have you watched the 2ww videos? I think they could either be really good or just make me even more inpatient 😂

Really? I was having a look around the app and it just directed me to the subscription. The free trial is only 7 days so waiting until it will actually be useful and can see if it is worth the ££ but part of me just wants to have a good nose around now.

I’ve never been so excited for AF to arrive (except before conceiving DD of course).

I used the Femometer strips for tracking ovulation and found them to be great if you can get the 'good' batch. They also do some awful batches (can give you more tips if you're not sure on which is which 😄)

I then used the Femometer app to record results and this was totally free. I never paid for subscription but I did pay for a subscription to fertility friend which is totally worth the money if you track temperature. Otherwise I'm not sure you need anything like that, everything you need should be free Smile

@Haiyaa ah maybe it was 7 days then. But yes definitely free - I use it every month for my ICs, CM and BBT tracking and pay absolutely nothing for it.

Haiyaa · 19/01/2021 16:16

@Juno231 thanks for that, I will try and have another fiddle with it.

@roseoil yes please, I didn’t realise there was a lot of batch variation. How can I tell?

@roseoil Would you be able to share about which are the bad batches please? I've just received a new box of femometer OPK's (different font on box and packaging) and it's giving me a high result of 0.55 whereas my old ones say low of 0.19 (with the same pee!)
