hi all, if period lasts 5- 7 days then supposedly a week after you start to ovulate. But if my period only last 2 3 days does that mean ovulation would be moved forward too? Or jusy keep it the same rule as 12- 14days before next period?? I just dont want to miss my window thanks in advance for any suggestions

The part before you ovulate could be 12 days or 122 days - it's the luteal phase before your period that hardly changes :) So no, your period length does not affect when your ovulation is.

Don't assume any averages though, your body won't know to follow such rules :) if you have a 28 day cycle and you don't track ovulation you need to be having sex every 2 days from day 10 to 20 just to be on the safe side.

Even earlier than day 10! I ovulate on day 10, in a 27 day cycle. Currently pregnant with DC4 and I fall first cycle each time, so day 10 can definitely be healthy.

But no, total days of bleed has no relationship to when you'll ovulate. Read Toni Wechsler's book and start BBT if you're unsure. Ovulation can be regular, early, late, missed etc. But the luteal phase doesn't tend to change.

@Livingmagicallyagain oh wow that's unusual! I think the LP can be max 17 days and it's rare to encounter anyone on here that actually has it!

Thanks everyone for your help 😆 im 29 and have a daughter I didnt realise how little I knew about all of this 🤣🤣 didnt try for daughter 10 years ago but actively trying for baby no 2. I've bought some OPK but I guess there's no harm in DTD every other day from when I stop period up to next AF I don't mind 🤣
