hi ladies!

i hope this is okay, as I don't think i am a mum right now but i could be (and i really wish i was)!

i just wanted to see if anyone else had gotten something similar, as i have just had my IUD out in Dec and stopped the pill 3rd Jan. Gave up condoms on the 6th.

i know the hormonal changes could make my AF, due the 16th Jan, late and so don't want to get too excited, but is it possible a negative test could be wrong at this point?

no idea when i ovulated, we were just having fun and getting ready to track after my first AF without hormones but it's not coming so far

did a test two days before AF due, and two since it has been late - all negative

trying not to symptom spot, but my boobs are so sensitive they can't be touched, im nauseated most of the day and i keep getting period cramps but then nothing happens! i am also snappy and exhausted but PMS does this too lol

thanks for reading, im all over the place and hope this makes sense! just seeing if other women had experienced this sort of thing, especially after iud removal/ going off the minipill

Cycles can take days or months to regulate after hormonal interference. If you only had the IUD out in December and you also took the pill until jan 3 then I wouldn't expect anything to be normal for at least 1 or 2 cycles. Everyone is different of course and I've had varying experiences each time I've stopped a birth control. You could get pregnant very quickly or it could take several months. I'm not sure you can say you are 'late' atm though, given your cycle needs to re-set.

thank you for replying! yeah you are right, i think it's just a case of waiting for it and regulating first :))

Hello , it will take a few months for your cycles to get back on track , when we came offcontraception I waited to have my first cycle and then started tracking. However I've read so many stories about pretty much getting pregnant straight away. So you never know. Good luck with it all 😊

If you are counting your period due date according to your previous bleeds on the pill then it won’t be correct. On certain types of pill you will get a “breakthrough bleed” during the 7 days you don’t take the pill but it is not a true period as the cycle is disrupted by the pill. Similar for the pill you take every day - some women retain a cyclical bleeding pattern but it is not a true period.

So not impossible as some women will get pregnant after just missing a couple of days of their pill but I would say just track your cycles for now and eventually they should settle. Your new normal also may vary from what you had before starting the pill even if you were like clockwork.

Hi OP I think you have to just wait for cycle I stopped pill dec had withdrawal bleed 22nd- 27th and was due AF today (if im basing on a 28 day cycle to start with.) Still no AF and tested yesterday and BFN. So not pregnant and no AF had every symptom going which is annoying 🙄

wow, that is exactly my situation, even the dates! i hope it all sorts itself out for you soon, im going crazy waiting for my AF i just want to move onto a cycle :))

thank you for the info! i was only on the pill for a few weeks but my periods during my IUD were like clockwork so you're right, it's a waiting game for them to get back into the groove :)) thanks again!
