Anyone know the cost of having a lap and dye privately? Crazy money I should think....

Would think between 2-3K.

Why is your cons talking about a lap and dye post c section?. Any abdominal surgery can cause adhesions to form post op (is he thinking along these lines?).

Actually the "dye" part can be done instead by having a HSG test done. This is a tubal x-ray and can give info not easily accessible by other methods. Apart from such a test being cheaper to do you are also fully awake for this procedure.

A hysterosalpingogram would be a lot cheaper. I had one privately and it was a couple of hundred I think IIRC - lap and dye would be a few K I reckon.

Thanks for the replies. Yes ATM he mentioned the possibilty of tubes sticking together after c section. I did wonder if just having the hsg test would be best first of all. Would this show if there are adhesions/blockages?

yep, hsg show show up any blockages or adhesions.

I've just found out that our insurance will pay for the lap and dye. It would be crazy money apparently 3k - v. scary. Thanks for the replies.
