Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!

Kay00 · 16/01/2021 20:33

As the Post Pill Party fills up, the lights are dimmed and the music drops a beat. The lead singer of this rambunctious band shouts: Mosh Pit!! The ravers all storm for the small space in front of the stage allowing their bodies to dance to the beat however the f* they want!! You go ladies!!

This is the 7th post pill party thread for women whose bodies aren’t quite dancing to the expected rhythm: we have delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs!

In the crowd I can see:

@Gracie2021 I'm pretty sure I read that every day has no advantage over every other day in conception rates and that for healthiest sperm they recommend an, ahem, emission every 2nd day

Sperr · 06/02/2021 07:28

BBT experts- I need help please! Is this normal?!? I had a glass of wine so I expected my temp to be a little higher is anything today 🙃

Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!
Juno231 · 06/02/2021 08:37

@Sperr yes it is! Between 5-8dpo it's normal to have one big dip due to a secondary oestrogen surge. It's oestrogen that lowers our temp - hence why the FP had lower temps overall as it's the oestrogen dominated half of our cycle :)

Should shoot back up tomorrow!

How are my TWW girlfriends holding up? 6DPO today - we're in implantation territory!

Kay00 · 06/02/2021 08:47

@sperr I second what Juno says

@juno231 exciting!! It would be completely mad (but of course completely wonderful) if you caught this month... just before your fertility appointment 🤞🤞🤞

Im CD16 and nothing to report. Im starting to worry that I might never ovulate again. Its quite disheartening 😔 I'm trying so hard 😫

@Juno231 morning 👋 I'm ok, still really suffering with this UTI feeling, the last 3 nights in a row I've woken up at 3am needing a wee and not been able to get back to sleep until about 5am!! But then I feel fine after midday. I've done one of those online doctor things to ask for anti-biotics but I'm a bit worried about taking them at the moment. The pain is too much though! How are you getting on?

Moocher90 · 06/02/2021 09:46

So I’ve been doing my reading into hashimotos as I’ve got raised thyroid antibodies so it basically means I have hashimotos :/. I’ve booked a gp telephone app to I can ask for a blood test also covering the antibodies for thyroid so it’s ready for my endo appointment on 24th to see what they recommend. If my tsh goes over 5 which it’s not far off then they will start medication.

Hashimoto's disease is linked to infertility it can make getting pregnant more difficult. That's because decreased levels of thyroid hormone interfere with ovulation.

Autoimmunity can negatively affect fertility, even when TSH levels are within normal range. Dr. Unuane explains that the immune imbalance indicated by thyroid antibodies can impact fertility by:

Causing difficulty with fertilization of the egg
Causing difficulty with implantation
Increasing the risk for miscarriage

My female hormones test came back ok with no issues so I hope that my body will still try to ovulate successfully this cycle.

I’m still gf and df which is good for thyroid antibodies but I read that soya is not good I only eat a bit of soya in the form of yoghurt and milk occasionally. I need to find a soya alternative yoghurt. Milk is ok as I drink all the nut milks....coconut, hazel nut and almond.

ChinChilly · 06/02/2021 10:13

@Gracie2021 low libido? I had none 😂😂 I was quite happy to not have sex at all! 😂

@Juno231 & @Sperr keeping everything crossed you ladies! And @Kay00 hopefully ovulation will happen soon.

@Moocher90 that sucks, I’m sorry. Although I do wonder about hashimoto’s myself. I’m going to push my doctor to do a full thyroid function and hormonal blood test. I have a different doctor this time so hopefully she will be more helpful as the last one was making her lunch in the background! Have the battle with GPs is getting the diagnosis and treatment. Hopefully you’re on the right road now.

Juno231 · 06/02/2021 14:06

@Moocher90 what was your tsh and t4 again? BTW I'd recommend oat milk products - it's the most environmentally friendly out those!

@MissC07 ah poop about the uti! Def worth having antibiotics though if it prevents it from spreading to your kidneys. I don't think it should interfere with ttc but make sure you tell your gp you're trying for a baby.

I'm knackered today - had done nearly 19k steps before noon! My lower back is really aching today and I have uterus twinges/ovary crampiness but I assume that's all progesterone playing a trick on me!

Sperr · 06/02/2021 14:35

Thanks for the help @Juno231 @Kay00. I was so worried I couldn’t fall back to sleep after I took my temp!

Juno- I feel you there. I ran 7k this morning and I basically got back in bed straight after and I’ve been there ever since 😂.

Moocher90 · 06/02/2021 15:03

@Juno231
TSH was 4.56 miu/l
T4 was 77 nmol/l
FT4 13.6 pmol/l
T3 4.3 pmol/l

Antibodies for both are very high
Thyroid peroxidase 572 iu/ml
Thyroglobulin antibody 441 iu/ml

MissC07 · 06/02/2021 15:50

@Juno231 Well done on your steps!! Fingers crossed the twinges/ cramps aren't tricks. The pharmacy rejected my antibiotic request because I said I was trying to conceive. It seems to have been ok today so hopefully I won't actually need to make a drs appt on Monday. That and my OH went out and came back with 4 litres of cranberry juice 🤣

@Gracie2021 @Sperr how are you ladies getting on too?

Flowers222 · 06/02/2021 16:04

@Gracie2021 usually I get 3 days of peak opks and I haven't had a temp rise yet.

Just realised the 2 months I had a regular cycle I was taking Conceive plus ovulation support, but I thought it was expensive and thought I was regular just because my body had settled after coming off the pill so didn't buy more. Seems too much of a coincidence so quickly bought more and hope ovulation will happen soon now I'm taking it again🤞

@Kay00 sorry you haven't ovulated yet. I was really hoping the soy iso would work for you! Hope it happens soon!

@Juno23119k steps before noon!! Wow well done! And @Sperr with you 7k run! Making me feel really lazy

@MissC07 the pharmacy did that to me a couple of months ago when I had a UTI. Ended up going through the doctors who made me take a pregnancy test before they would give me antibiotics. Said the symptoms are very similar to early pregnancy symptoms so they wanted to make sure. Talk about getting my hopes up as it was about 10 days after ovulation. Was just a UTI!

Juno231 · 06/02/2021 16:11

@Moocher90 hm I thought for hashimotos you'd need high tsh and low t4 but your t4 seems quite high? Looks like you've got a funny in between going on 😅

@MissC07 ha we that's good of them I guess! Keep going with the bicarb BTW - from memory cranberry juice is a myth 🙊

TheDaydreamBelievers · 06/02/2021 16:15

@Juno231 I love oat milk! Foams really well too

Moocher90 · 06/02/2021 16:21

@Juno231 so my thyroid is subclinical hypo until it’s over 5. My FT4 and T3 are on the lower end of the scale as Reference ranges are Ft4 12-22 and t3 3.1 - 6.8 so both are still on the lower end. You can have hashimotos without hypoactive thyroid but it’s just a matter of time before it becomes hypo usually within 5 years it says online. However I wouldn’t know how long I have had antibodies for....
my TSH has increased since my nhs blood test in December from 3.86 to 4.56
The autoimmune paleo diet which is gf df apparently brings the antibodies down.

MissC07 · 06/02/2021 16:40

@Flowers222 how annoying! At least I know it's not just happened to me. It literally only happens from about 3am-midday and then I'm fine. Hoping it goes soon!

@Juno231 Def still sticking with the bi-carb. With the amount of cranberry juice I'll have left over I'll be making Cosmopolitans until Easter 🍹 😂

Emmgrem · 06/02/2021 17:08

@crabette and @FlyingGiraffe congratulations ladies 🥳👏❤️ so nice to see some BFPs!

Can't wait to hear your story @FlyingGiraffe - 12 days of spotting/bleeding! So crazy!!

Sperr · 06/02/2021 18:07

@MissC07 some small pinching and twinges today but that’s about it. Still too early to feel anything I guess!

@Flowers222 most of my motivation for exercise is so I can eat whatever I like 🤣. I’ll be making a big plate of pasta tonight

Sperr · 07/02/2021 07:28

So my temp went even lower this morning?! I’m really freaking out now that I hand ovulated nd I’ve now missed DTD. I still have the solid cross lines. My cervix is closed so I don’t think I’m fertile but should I DTD just in case?!

Juno231 · 07/02/2021 07:37

@Sperr hmm and you're sure you didn't sleep with your mouth open? 🙊

Sperr · 07/02/2021 08:15

@Juno231i mean I could have 😂. I just looked properly now I’m not half asleep and realised it actually rose a tiny bit but it’s still below my cover line ?!

My cervix has been closed for a few days now and I haven’t had any EWCM for a week now so I have no fertile signs.

minipilling · 07/02/2021 08:51

Oof. CD16 and no surge yet (am using digital smiley tests once a day). Could I have missed it? I started testing CD12. Only stopped spotting from my period yesterday! Tiring. A bit of cervical mucus mixed in with the brown discharge yesterday but not enough to suggest ovulation.

FlyingGiraffe · 07/02/2021 08:57

Sorry I disappeared there. Unfortunately it wasnt meant to be and i started cramping and bleeding heavily yesterday. I was kind of expecting it having seen a glimpse of blood on the day I got the positive test. My emotions have been all over the place! Glad I can get pregnant and glad I knew I actually was pregnant, relieved it was such an early miscarriage because I cant imagine how heartbreaking it has been for some of you to go through it any later, sad it wasnt a sticky bean... It's been a crazy few days. Thank you for all your messages anyway. I'll definitely be trying SMEP again as that's what we did last month (although looking back we missed the 3rd day in a row and the one after that! But that was after ovulation for me anyway) and I started taking Seven Seas 2dpo because I had a bit of spotting and thought AF was starting. I have no idea how anything implanted, albeit for a short time, when I was spotting from 2dpo anyway! But I'll carry on the seven seas and see what happens. Expect my cycles might be a bit messed up now anyway! Hope everyone else is ok. Sorry, I haven't really caught up properly yet. Xx

MissC07 · 07/02/2021 09:04

@FlyingGiraffe I'm so sorry. Hope you're taking the time to look after yourself, fingers crossed you get your sticky bean soon 🤍

Kay00 · 07/02/2021 09:09

@flyinggiraffe 😔😔😔 im so sorry xx I think you have been able to take some positives from this and that is really good, although it must me so hard for you right now xx

@sperr I have read about 2 day estrogen surges in the LP, so its probably nothing to be too concerned about x
