Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!

Kay00 · 16/01/2021 20:33

As the Post Pill Party fills up, the lights are dimmed and the music drops a beat. The lead singer of this rambunctious band shouts: Mosh Pit!! The ravers all storm for the small space in front of the stage allowing their bodies to dance to the beat however the f* they want!! You go ladies!!

This is the 7th post pill party thread for women whose bodies aren’t quite dancing to the expected rhythm: we have delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs!

In the crowd I can see:

@abi555 I did look at that one, do you think it was worth the £79? I’m tempted but I think I’m worried about something coming up...head firmly in the sand 😂

abi555 · 01/02/2021 13:54

@ChinChilly It was worth it to me because I was worrying there was something wrong with my thyroid and I'd prefer to know there was a problem and act upon it (I'm not good at doing nothing).
But I can see how it might not be healthy to see something that is not perfect and then worry about it when it may not make any difference to getting pregnant anyway but just cause more stress.
So I suppose it's personal as to whether you do better with more info or less!

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 14:05

@abi555 you’re right ultimately if there is something wrong I need to do something about it. My thyroid levels were 4.4 when I had a blood test done under the NHS but my GP wouldn’t do anything about it because it was still under the ‘normal range’ even though it’s not great for TTC but she wouldn’t even entertain the idea of doing any kind of retest until we had been TTC for a year.

MancMama39 · 01/02/2021 14:14

Agghhhh @Juno231 was just popping on to see if you'd been to your appointment - so sorry they moved it, and at such short notice! Let's hope you don't need it X

MintGreenLife · 01/02/2021 14:18

Thanks @crabette :)

@Juno231 that's rubbish they moved your appointment so last minute! As others have said, hopefully this cycle is the one for you and you won't need it in the end xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/02/2021 14:51

@mrsmacmc @Kay00 my est due date before my MC was my birthday! We had joked that we would lie to little one about when they were born so I didnt have to share my birthday

@Juno231 that's completely shit! 1 hr notice?! Most people would be on their way by then

crabette · 01/02/2021 15:08

@Kay00 I totally agree with the respect for the diet as well lol - I also have IBS and just put up with the symptoms 😂

I need you guys to talk me down a bit from testing 🙈 I'm CD30, 10dpo (maybe even just 9dpo).

Would normally expect AF CD30-31, though I do get spotting and cramps first usually and no sign as yet. BUT, I've been on B complex since CD20 this cycle, so maybe am just having a longer cycle this month to extend my luteal a bit, as I'd hoped?!

I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up, as I swore I'd wait til AF was properly late before testing, but also mind is running away with me a bit! Made worse by not having really temped this month so not sure if I'm just getting myself hyped over nothing 🙈

Do you think I should temp tomorrow and if high, do a test? Or am I better trying to wait it out til the end of the week 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gracie2021 · 01/02/2021 15:13

@crabette my first thought is I'm so so excited for you! I'd try and wait a couple days at least til 12 DPO but not sure I could manage the wait myself even with the best of intentions. Whatever you decide, fingers and toes crossed for you here! Do you have anything you can distract yourself with? Like make a call to a few friends for chats or do a tidy up in the house?

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 15:17

@crabette my logical head says wait until 12dpo I kinda got my hopes up this time but if your anything like me if your temp is high tomorrow you’ll test 😂 do whats best for you!

So I think I’m going to try the gluten free thing this month I’ve noticed I get gloated everytime I eat gluten so I’m gonna give it a whirl!

crabette · 01/02/2021 15:28

@Gracie2021 @ChinChilly Thanks gals, this is what I needed, a reality check!!

I've ordered a couple of FRER's which will come daytime tomorrow, so think the earliest I will test is Wed morning FMU - technically that's a late AF for me, and would be 12dpo according to FF. I'll do my best to hold off longer than that though!

Now that I've ordered tests AF will probably appear this avo anyway 🙄😂🙈

I'm working from home, so technically have loads of (work) stuff to distract me but my mind is running away with itself a bit! I've recently discovered How To Get Away With Murder on Netflix so that'll keep my mind off things tonight lol.

Good luck with the gluten free @ChinChilly - think that'll be a hard one to follow too!!

Gracie2021 · 01/02/2021 15:33

@crabette that sounds like a plan. Fingers crossed for you all stays quiet til Wed. For all my talk I'm only at 1DPO and just caught myself googling first signs of pregnancy and when would my due date be 🙈🙈🙄 insanity!

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 15:35

@crabette keeping everythint crossed for you 9dpo onwards is the hardest to resist testing!

I’m hoping it’s not too bad I’ve significantly cut down on my bread intake mainly because my OH doesn’t really eat it so I end up throwing half a loaf away regularly so I don’t really buy it any more. OHs mom is gluten free, not by choice so hoping she can help.

crabette · 01/02/2021 15:44

@Gracie2021 😂 It's so hard isn't it. I keep imagining symptoms, but also things that would be AF symptoms too? Like my boobs are tender, but they always are before AF. Trying to decide if I feel crampy or nauseous, but veer between that being a sign of AF on the way or a bean!! Think it's actually just nerves 🙈 Going to try and put it out of my head for a couple of days, or at least til AF arrives and bursts my bubble.

@ChinChilly That's good if your OH's mom is gluten free! Lots of tips, and he'll be used to gluten free eating too hopefully? If I announced I was going gf think my OH would keel over!

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 15:56

@Gracie2021 she only developed a gluten intolerance about 8 years ago after a pregnancy and she livea abroad now, I think she eats alot of meat/veg/salad rather then the GF alternatives! I don’t think my OH minds he was moaninv he was getting fat anyway 😂

Totally with you on the symptom spotting I do it every single month!

Juno231 · 01/02/2021 16:01

@ChinChilly I've you go for thriva or letsgetchecked (the one I used) I'm sure we can sort you out with referral discount codes? Pretty sure I had one for 30% off last time I checked.

@crabette the femometer thermometer with bluetooth functionality could be the answer for you? I think it can store up to 300 temps and you can upload them all at once. Pretty sure the bluetooth can sync the temps without you looking as well?

Also I'm gonna poo poo the plan about taking a temp tomorrow and base your testing off of that and remind you of all my troll charts and likewise that plenty of low temp charts get BFPs anyway xx

@MancMama39 @MintGreenLife thanks for checking in! Promise to tag you when it does happen - whether you'll get the notification though is another matter Grin

Juno231 · 01/02/2021 16:04

@ChinChilly I saw a thread crop up yday from last year where the OP had gone to a private fertility consultation and they immediately put her on levothyroxine for her high TSH... it was 2.77. Makes me feel stupid for waiting around for NHS appointments when if I'd been more proactive I could have had it sorted months ago?

So I've decided that if the NHS appointment (WHEN it happens) is disappointing I might just go private at least to be on the safe side. Same if they say that I have to wait months for a hycosy as they don't do them due to covid - I'd go private. I'm sick of waiting. I wanted kids at 30 but atm I'll be 34 at the earliest for my first one...

crabette · 01/02/2021 16:11

Thanks @Juno231 - that's a good point! Not sure if temping tomorrow after not temping pretty much all cycle is a good or bad idea for my sanity lol. I've just looked up that bluetooth thermometer and definitely going to invest in one for next cycle - that looks much easier for me, and would be good if you could temp with your eyes closed and then just evaluate when you're in the right mindset!!

It's good you've got the option to go private if you need to - see how your NHS appointment goes, but yeah, if you can get it sorted much faster and have the means to do so I'd go for it as well!

Juno231 · 01/02/2021 16:20

@crabette ha so I think if I go private it'll all be a bit of a shock for OH. From what I gather, he still seems to think we're in the normal TTC period and I had to point out to him the other day that because we've been trying for over a year we fall into the infertile category and only like 8 out 100 people have a baby in the second year (but I still don't think it sunk in, I think he thinks I'm being dramatic). So I don't think he's fully realised that IVF is a real possibility and that if we go private things could ramp up very quickly lol.

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 16:22

@Juno231 high? At 2.77 they’d fall over if they saw the state of mine 😂😂 I may take you up on the discount referal code thingy, I spoke to thriva about an hour ago she recommended I waited until my next cycle as my period has pretty much started today and they like you to do the blood sample on CD3.

I have thought about doing a fertility MOT privately, it’s just so costly! I totally get what you mean about the waiting time I wanted atleast 1 before I was 30 (30 in August) I’m not knocking the NHS but bloody hell the waiting times are ridiculous. I’m still annoyed at them for totally dismissing my thyroid levels even though they aren’t far off borderline hypothyroidism.

£30 off your first test for anyone interested in trying - it gives me a kickback too so maybe I'll go for something fun like the colon check where you have to send your poop in 🤣

@chinchilly here you go

ChinChilly · 01/02/2021 16:56

@Juno231 ahh, Brilliant thank you! I’ll have a look this evening..colon check sounds interesting 😂😂

MissC07 · 01/02/2021 17:05

@crabette how exciting!! Good luck for when you decide to test! I hope the next few days go quickly for you.

@Gracie2021 @Juno231 @abi555 Thanks ladies, your O-2 comments picked me up today! Will see if my temp rises again the next few days to confirm O day being yesterday 🤞

Moocher90 · 01/02/2021 18:39

@ChinChilly @Juno231
I told my husband that we would go private if I continue to have cycles where I fail to ovulate. I’ve found one local that does a package deal for couples for £690 this is what they do below.

AMH (Anti Mullerian Hormone) – is a hormone produced by cells within the ovary that help us assess your ovarian egg reserve and therefore your fertility.

Rubella – to check if you are immune to Rubella, as the disease affects an unborn child.

Full blood count – to assess your general wellbeing and rule out anaemia.

Urine test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea – easily curable sexually transmitted diseases.

Thyroid profile – to assess your thyroid function as this can affect fertility.

Semen assessment + HBA – to assess the health and viability of the sperm.

2nd visit – 2 weeks later

A detailed 3D Saline Infusion Sonogram (SIS) to assess the uterus
Ultrasound scan with Antral Follicle Count (AFC) to determine your egg reserve
HyCoSy procedure to check if your fallopian tubes are open or not
(Should you wish to proceed to a fertility treatment after your assessment the cost of the New Consultation will be £150)

I’ve got a telephone consultation for endocrinology in relation to my thyroid. I’ve also got a let’s get checked test for thyroid to do to see if it’s lowered and CD3 hormone checks! Which I am going to do in 2 days time. CD1 for me!

I’m also doing a gluten and dairy free diet at the mo.

Cams50 · 01/02/2021 18:39

@Juno231 so annoying about your appointment! Especially when you’ve mentally prepared for tat. As the others have said though, hopefully you won’t need it. Lol about the colon check 😂

@crabette eek it’s sounding really promising! I know the longer you hold out the better but I’ve no will power. It’s good your lp seems to be lengthening at the very least.

@MissC07 as the others have said 2 days before ovulation is good! And grant that ovulation had been confirmed.

@ChinChilly and @juno I’ve also thought about the private fertility mot but it’s so expensive isn’t it. But then so long a wait with the NHS. Think I’ll try stick to it with the NHS as if I’ll need IVF then that’ll be private anyway.

Gracie2021 · 01/02/2021 20:08

Proper catch up in the morning but for now... @MissC07 just saw a BFP story on Reddit today with -2 as the day they covered. Thought of you thinking it might be a sign 🤞
