Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!

Kay00 · 16/01/2021 20:33

As the Post Pill Party fills up, the lights are dimmed and the music drops a beat. The lead singer of this rambunctious band shouts: Mosh Pit!! The ravers all storm for the small space in front of the stage allowing their bodies to dance to the beat however the f* they want!! You go ladies!!

This is the 7th post pill party thread for women whose bodies aren’t quite dancing to the expected rhythm: we have delayed ovulation, crazy long follicular phases, crazy short follicular phases, light AFs, short luteal phases, long luteal phases, confusing temp charts and blindingly white OPKs!

In the crowd I can see:

Morning!!

I really don’t know what to make of my temps they’re so up and down its starting to look like a picturesque mountain view 😂 anybody got any idea? I had the more vivid dream last night that I was pregnant...was wierd.

@minipilling I get why you anxious sometimes I have days where I think it’s not the right time but I don’t think there ever is a right time. My friend got unexpectedly pregnant and for various reasons she has to have scans every month so she is in and out of the hospital she said it’s fine and she feels safe! Try not to worry too much I’m hoping we are on the COVID home stretch now...surely? We’ve gotta be? 😬

LauraT94 · 27/01/2021 08:56

@abi555 I'm sorry AF got you ❤️ but fresh cycle and CD1 at least! X

@Juno231 I don't think they're too strong, nearly there on these 25mIU ones now. Fingers crossed a squinter by tomorrow! Think I'm all good now as I've no bleeding or pain in a week!

@Tillybabs don't panic too much about the lube. OH and I always use it and conceived in November using KY jelly which is one of the 'no no's'. We caught my Ovulation by a fluke so decided to go for it that month and didnt have any other lubes on hand! So just to show you it's s still possible, even if not ideal. We're now using pre-seed which has shot up in price lately for some reason 🤔

@ChinChilly I think it's great that all your post-O temps are above your coverline though! Will you test before AF is due?

Tillybabs · 27/01/2021 08:59

@LauraT94 thanks for the reassurance, that’s good to hear! I’ve ordered the conceive plus one now going forward but hopefully I won’t even need it.

ChinChilly · 27/01/2021 09:09

@LauraT94 probably, I’ve have got 12 FRERs and 8 IC’s (not a physco amazon fudged up my order and sent 12 FRERs instead of 2) 🤣 good to hear the pain and bleeding has stopped, fingers crossed for a BFN soon!

Kay00 · 27/01/2021 09:17

Morning Ladies! Happy hump day!

@minipilling I totally get whilst you are stressed and anxious, but I suspect it will take me a long time to get pregnant, and I think the pre-natal services are all fairly light touch for the first trimester or two, so there shouldn't be the need to visit the hospital too often. My only advice to you is (if you are thinking of trying this month or in the next few months) to come off the pill completely and just start tracking your cycles, if you decide this month isn't your month then you can avoid having sex in your fertile week. But a step away from your contraceptives will give your body a chance to fall into its normal patterns, which can take up to a year to happen.

@ChinChilly your chart looks good I think! Nice and high temps and I'd expect one of those dips and wouldn't worry about the other :)

@LauraT94 good good! Just feels like it's been ages since it happened but I think my perception of time is a bit skewed now that every day is the same as the previous day

@minipilling Caveating this with me not having chronic pain/fatigue, but in general I haven't been worried about the covid aspect. Partly because I know half a dozen people who have had babies during it and who still received excellent care, partly because there's never really a right time and also because there's no reasonable end date either. So I don't think I have the time to lose based on what ifs. Lots of ladies postponed when it first hit beginning of last year - but they'll still be waiting for a good time to start now, whereas I'm over a year in TTC and still don't have a bfp to show for it. I dread to think the position I'd be in if I was only starting out eg next year!

LauraT94 · 27/01/2021 09:42

@Tillybabs fingers crossed for you!

@ChinChilly hahaha I do remember seeing that! You've definitely got enough to spare 😂 I've got 2 FRERs, 2 clearblue how many weeks, 2 clearblue ultra early, 1 clearblue digital, 10 sensitive ICs and 20 normal ICs... Unfortunately I purchased all of them but I'm not a psycho either, promise 😂

@Juno231 ahh yeah I totally get that feeling! Ground hog day. It's two weeks tomorrow since my MVA. I think it feels longer too as it's a missed miscarriage so I had that awful few weeks in between where I knew how it would end but had to wait!

@minipilling I can definitely understand the anxiety. My care in the early pregnancy unit with my Miscarriage was definitely sub-par as a result of Covid. But having said that, we really must be on the way out of the worst of it now as we get vaccinated etc. I can only see things improving from summer time onwards. If you're wanting to conceive any time in the next few months I'd definitely come off the pill as soon as you can and move to condoms or something in the mean time to protect yourself. Lots of these ladies have shown how long it will take to regulate after the pill! I really hope your anxiety eases soon ❤️

ChinChilly · 27/01/2021 10:15

@Juno231 ahh thanks, you’re the temp chart expert!

@LauraT94 😂😂😂 well you can never have too many!

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 10:29

Just doing a massive catch up here.

@minipilling I'd be of the same opinions as the other guys. I came off the pill last May and it took til December to have any kind of a regular rhythm back. It was like going through puberty again tbh relearning my whole body. Have to be honest after using condoms and the pill religiously for ten years just in case I feel like there is definite scaremongering out there about how easy it is to get pregnant. Anyway rant for another day. Even if you're not comfortable trying yet, it can be a good time to get used to your body again and learn your ovulating rhythm etc.

@LauraT94 fingers crossed for that BFN for you. Can't imagine how tough the last weeks have been. Hope you're looking after yourself xx also not surprised about the cost of preseed shooting up. Apparently there is a covid related baby boom ongoing! Very like the companies involved to capitalize.

@abi555 hope you're settled into your new home and enjoying all the benefits of AF coming like hot baths and wine. That's my usual routine the second it hits. Find the treats that week help a bit.

@ChinChilly fingers crossed this is your cycle! I've heard weird dreams can be a good sign on a few of the BFP stories.

@Emmgrem all appendages crossed for you here!

@Elsie2021 I love a BFP story. Thanks so much for sharing. And let's hope the BFPs are catching!!! Just stocked up on conceive plus here so good timing.

Giving it a shot at sharing a chart as I've no clue what I'm doing. Just started temping a few days back but nice abs regular so far anyway. Ovulated CD18 the last two months so EOD from today and then all weekend and hopefully I'll catch this one! The first month I've had two "normal" cycles to work from so hoping having an idea of ovulation to work back from will do it this month. Anyway sorry for the long ramble. Find it so hard to catch up with everybody's updates so tend to do masse catch ups in one go!

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 11:12

@Gracie2021 looks good so far! Just to clarify - are you using clearblue opks or cheapies? If cheapies then you shouldn't be using the "Mon" line of the chart for logging them :)

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 11:20

@Juno231 Easy@home - presume these fall under cheapies? So just pop in no or yes instead? Thanks for the tips btw. Just moved into FF a few weeks ago. How's FW going for you? Hope things are well.

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 11:28

Actually speaking of charts, is there anyone out there that has a really rapid onset ovulation either? My tests can go from low/nil to peak and back to low in 24 hours. Not sure if my temps would follow accordingly so I wouldn't get the slow rise that I see on tons of your charts.

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 13:28

@Gracie2021 Yes - I think the Low/Highs are in relation to oestrogen monitoring and then peak LH for the "Mon" row. I've had quite a few cycles I think where I've gone very pale line on the OPKs to BAM a peak and then it's gone again the next day.

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 14:11

Didn't we have loads of test dates coming up? I feel like not everyone reported back!

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 14:37

@Juno231 good to know thank you. I'll move them out to the right place. I'm rapid every month tbh. Even testing three times a day I can miss the peak and only see the build up and fall back either side. On the bright side there's never any ambiguity about when I've ovulated since it's the only time in month I have any LH activity at all. Just curious about whether this will reflect in temps too but time will tell.

Have the fingers for those testing at the minute too.

ChinChilly · 27/01/2021 14:48

@Juno231 I’ll be 12dpo Saturday so I guess I’ll test Saturday

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/01/2021 15:08

@Gracie2021 mine can be very sudden up/down - in sept when I conceived I literally had one day of blindingly strong OPK and either side was pretty much blank.

Now post MMC they did the same, so I think I must have a sharp peak!

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 15:16

@TheDaydreamBelievers apparently were only slightly in the minority. Premom app has these cycle reports that I find interesting and they show the rapid onset surge well. We're among 42% of women apparently so in good company 👍

Post Pill Party - The Mosh Pit !!
TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/01/2021 15:25

@Gracie2021 nice not to feel too weird! My two apps are forever telling me that my cycles are "very atypical" - tell me something I dont know!

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 16:24

@Gracie2021 love stats like that!

So FW starts today (or maybe yesterday, depending on the predictions). I told OH this at the weekend seeing it's my fault he's not more involved... But I've already had a nightmare last night that I had my peak and hadn't manage to DTD once because of him. I can also feel myself getting grumpy because he's acting all tired/exhausted right now and I feel like he's just going to use that as a reason not to BD tonight either. Not that he'll remember that FW starts anyway because that's not his job to remember!

The tiredness is completely self inflicted as well - he sits on his bum all day and only goes out for a walk when I drag him out once a week on a weekend. Sigh.

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 16:52

@Juno231 sorry to hear it. It really does cause such stress in a relationship doesn't it! The weight of all this really does fall on our shoulders most of the time as well. I've had the tired thing a couple months too and it's the pits cause it's not a nice feeling that you're pressuring someone into something that you're both supposed to want. This is the first month I've had any kind of firm ideas when O will happen so told him he's up to bat EOD from today. He might get a shock this evening if he hasn't remembered 😂🙈

minipilling · 27/01/2021 20:34

@ChinChilly it's good to know your friend feels safe with her scans! at the moment even anecdotal stories help Grin

@Kay00 my cycle seems to be back like clockwork but I'm not 100 per cent sure, I had ovulation pain as expected on my predicted date though I didn't check my OPK on that day (because of the excruciating pain!) I had sex last cycle 1 day before suspected ovulation but nothing came of it, and unfortunately I couldn't have sex again because of the pain and nausea. I'm hoping that my ovulation pain this time isn't as bad because it's really hard to get through, plus my other endo symptoms when I'm off the pill (I need progesterone to feel human). So I'd love to get pregnant right away if possible, if only the hospital situation weren't so dire! Such a dilemma.

@Juno231 Luckily I haven't heard anything too bad about local care, I live in Sheffield so would be using Jessop Wing which isn't far from me. They had some of the strictest visiting rules last year which wasn't great but at least it was keeping things safer.

@LauraT94 I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that must have been so difficult. I'm really hoping the vaccines has a positive effect, I'm just worried since they aren't proven to reduce transmission.
I'm considering staying off the pill as you said, just hoping my endo symptoms aren't too awful otherwise I'll have to go back on for a while unfortunately. It's such a juggling act! No need for condoms as I have zero energy for sex right now except if I'm TTC! DH is very kind and understanding!

@Gracie2021 I agree about pregnancy scaremongering! I've had friends fall by accident and wonder how! My SIL decided to have a second child and fell in the second month, she has never had any losses either. It beggars belief when I consider how many women struggle.

Thank you everyone who replied, I still need to consider the situation and maybe chat to my GP about my personal risk level but you've made me feel a bit better.

Juno231 · 27/01/2021 21:46

@minipilling if ovulation is that painful don't force yourself to dtd then - the three days leading up to it are super fertile so you could easily just stick to those xx

Well I'm CD11 and darker opks from a few days back have gone blank again and my ewcm has disappeared too. OH shocked me and brought up that FW starts today and that we should dtd!!! So at least that's done ☺️

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 21:47

You couldn't make this up!! Tesco delivery man stranded in the lawn outside the house. Out all evening with the OH, dad and brother trying to get him out. Now he's waiting on help to tow him out and it's already nearly 10pm. Parked right outside our bedroom window. Does he not realise I have a date to keep!!!!! 🙈🙈 on a human note feel very sorry for him and can't even invite him into the house with covid but also really frustrating as he was going too fast and we have a massive turning spot so there's no excuse. Rage!

Gracie2021 · 27/01/2021 21:58

@Juno231 The Oh is on the ball. That's brilliant! I always get some EWCM around then too then it goes away for a day or two abs comes back properly around day 14/15. Kind of a precursor.....
