Advice on OPKs.. cheap or expensive?

Hi!

I’m going to be on cycle 2 once AF is over.

I think I’m going to buy some OPKs for my next cycle. Does anyone have advice on which ones to buy? CB are more expensive- is it worth it? Or are the cheap strips on Amazon fine?

Thanks in advance! 😊

The cheap ones from amazon are absolutely fine and cost a fraction of the CB OPKs. Perhaps you could start with CB and transition to internet cheapies the following cycle if you think you'll find CBs easier?

Download an app like femometer where you can scan your amazon OPKs (I get a 50 pack of femometer ones usually) and it helps you decipher the sticks if you struggle with that :)

I used the cheap ones from Amazon and they did the job!
Bought 50 and tested from CD 9 til I got a peak on CD14. I tested morning and evening (because I had so many and it was my first month using them) with my evening ones coming up stronger.

Save the pennies IMO

Cheap ones worked perfectly fine this month. Although in previous months I could've sworn they weren't working as I was always negative! Not sure what happened there. Generally I would recommend the cheap ones as I think they are just as reliable as the expensive ones.

Thank you all for your advice, I appreciate it 😊 The difference in price between CB and strips is a lot considering how many cheap test strips you get in a pack compared to a lot less in CB!

@Juno231 So the app helps to understand them? It’s just my first time trying OPKs so I don’t want to second guess it and spend ages trying to decipher them haha.

I have been tracking for 2 months, I bought both clear blue advance and also easy at home as I wanted to be sure when I ovulated. I like the clear blue advanced as it tells you earlier when ovulation is coming as it picks up a rise in progesterone first.
The easy at home strips showed my peak on the same day that the clear blue showed a peak so both work fine for me.

@Annannanna Thankyou that’s great to know! After some research and everyone’s advice I think I’m going to try the strips this month. If I don’t get on with them I will try CB the month after 😊

Fingers crossed for next cycle try!
