FRER advice needed

Wondering if anyone can help...

Yesterday I used FMU to do a FRER test at 10DPO and within the timeframe I saw a faint line. This line is completely 100% pink without shadow of a doubt and as the test has dried it has become more significant. (See photo).

I did another one later that day from the same pack and it was stark negative, no lines in sight but this was only after a 3 hour hold.

This morning at 11DPO I've done a clear blue early response and it was negative. I sent my partner out to the shop to get more FRER so the sample was an hour old but I've just done it again and it's negative.

Does anyone have any advice? My period is due tomorrow but I'm feeling absolutely nothing. I confirmed ovulation with OPK's so I'm definite on my timeframes. Feeling very upset and deflated. I know all I can really do is wait for my period but tomorrow feels a long time away 

I don't have much advice other than this is how my test yesterday looked, exactly the same! And I don't have anymore tests so will go out and buy some more later and see. Fingers crossed for your BFP.

I can see a line there op but its very very faint.

@AnyTimeSoon it's not as faint as it looks in the photo, it's definitely not a squinter and there's no mistaking it's there and that it's pink as it should be if I was pregnant. Very frustrating!

No advice apart from wait, test again with a FRER in a day or two with first urine of the day if your period still hasn't arrived. If those tests are negative still then I'd guess that either that first test was faulty or possibly a chemical pregnancy.

I hope so too! I think i was 12dpo yesterday when I did the test but I didn't do opk's this month so not sure. I think unfortunately all we can do is wait, my period is due tomorrow and no sign yet and yours isn't here yet so we are both still in the game!

@Leo090813 I would like to think an evap line wouldn't be this significant for both of us so fingers crossed! AF is also due for me tomorrow, but it can come anywhere from this evening to tomorrow evening so it's going to be an awful wait for me if this is an evap I will never be using first response again!

I will be so disappointed too if they turn out to be evaps! My period could be another 3 days away for me as some cycles have been 31 days hopefully we know either way soon x

@Leo090813 luckily you've not had any negatives after so 🤞🏻 holding out more hope for you. I'm not going to test now unless my period is late as I can't handle the stress

Just an update - AF has arrived this morning, so I think it's safe to say that it was a FRER false positive (First Response Early Response False Positive). I don't believe it was a chemical pregnancy as I'd imagine it would've shown on the FRER I took a few hours later that same day.

Just in case any one wonders, I brought them from Amazon a couple of days ago so maybe stay clear from ones from Amazon if you're TTC and use FRER. As like I said previously it wasn't a typical evap as the line was pink, not grey.

Ah I'm sorry to hear this I've heard some stories about amazon FRER's and similar situations so I always get mine from the pharmacy now. Fingers crossed this cycle is your cycle! I've got no sign of AF yet, day 29 and last cycle was 31 days so I've still got a wait before I'm officially "late". Xx

AF came last night and my god shes come with a vengeance. After two months of faint lines on tests I just give up testing now until after AF is late. So disappointed how are you feeling?

Hi OP, just a follow up from this. Perhaps to maybe restore our hope in FRER - I was/am indeed pregnant. Unfortunately the blood loss I've experienced is likely I am miscarrying but the pregnancy has been confirmed via bloods. The "period" was going on for 10 days as of yesterday so I tested and got the attached totally shocked. As I say it's seeming unlikely this pregnancy is successful but have a scan Friday and repeat bloods to check my levels. Wishing you every bit of luck for the future with your TTV journey x
